PRESS STATEMENT ON THE PLANNED PROTEST.

After consultation with union leaders, stakeholders, security operatives and the management of IAUE, we have decided to suspend the propose protest slated for tomorrow Monday 22nd November 2021, this is to enable the new VC study the pending issues and address them appropriately.

We want to assure our students that this decision was taken in good faith, as we further assure them of our commitment to always advocate for their rights and well being.

NANS will continue to partner with heads of institutions for the greater good of our students and country.

Sequel to the letter sent abi nitio to the management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and its subsiquent follow up yesterday 18th November 2021, the leadership of NANS Rivers State haven explored all other means of consultation which all to no avail has been abortive, We hereby call on all Nigerian Students, Concerned and well meaning Nigerians to Come out on Monday as we will peacefully protest against the gruesome hike in acceptance/ Clearance fee and the placement of deadline for payment.

On this note, NANS and all the Rivers State Students Community will be storming the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education gate on Monday 22nd November 2021.

Combatant greetings ever Articulate Nigerian students of the Ignatius Ajuru Univeristy of Education , it's with much pleasure and euphoria we bring you conviviality for the the victory over the forces of inhumanity, oppression,intimidation and victimization of Nigerian students.

It is factum that NANS the apex body of students Unionism has intervened in the scandal rocking the Students Union Government of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and has through a rigorous means of dialogue affirmed to an Aburi reached at the office of the DPO Nigeria Police force Minikpiti Division that the following be strictly adhered to.

I, The electoral Committee just as demanded by NANS should as a matter of necessity return the ill collected Campari and the #5000 cash coercively collected from Aspirants On or before 5pm today being Wednesday 10th November.

II, That the DSA should as a matter of Necessity see that the above is perfected at the given Time to maintain the Reputation of the Institution as earned by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ozo Mekuri Ndemele.

111, That the Institution and the Electoral Committee should note that the Electoral process is prone to public scrutiny and as such avalanche opportunities be given for externals to observe the electoral process to grauntee the Legitimacy of the results.

IV, The election will now hold in Friday 12th November 2021 at the provision for the modalities for the above.

On the above, NANS Commends the Security Unit ranging from CSP. Omoniyi Lucky, DPO Nigeria Police force Minikpiti Division, Students Desk DSS Rivers State Command And fellow Nigerian Studensts who stood to see that this orchestrations are not melted on poor, Indigent and helpless Nigerian students whom out of their quest to serve Humanity deemed it pertinent to contest for a leadership position in the Students Union Government.

The leadership of NANS also uses this medium nothing the inconveniences this shift in date may have cost all the Aspirants and their Supporters to apologize for the above seen inconveniences.

NANS also want to assure Nigerian Students that henceforth the Electoral process will be hitch free and fair to all concerned parties.

HAPPY NEW MONTH ESTEEMED,COURAGEOUS AND COMBATANT NIGERIAN STUDENTS.

From the Joint Campus Committee of NANS Rivers State we roll out a bunch filled of convivality to our dearest Nigrrian Students and formally welcome all to November the 11th month of the year.

Retrospectically, October has offered us so many opportunities we were able to leverage on as a people, of a fact we can indelibly state the obvious that there have been hard and tough times for Nigerian Students across the various tertiary institutions across the state In the month of October ranging from some unfriendly and unacceptable policies made by managements Ranging form the No School Fees No Exam Mantra of the Ken Saro-wiwa Polytechnic Bori, its subsiquent addoption by the Management of Captain Elechi Amadi polytechnic, the Continuous hype in acceptance fee, and most heart touching the sudden accident that robbed us of our dear Colleagues in the struggle.

Nothwithstanding, the leadership of NANS hierarchically from the National ably led by the Revolutionary president of NANS Comr. Sunday Ashefon, The Zonal leadership ably led by the Supper Coordinating Coordinator of the Largest Zone of NANS comr. Sunday Etineye Friday and the State Leadership of NANS led by your servant NANS walker Walker Comr. Jokiel Gideon Chinonso we have admist the Challenging time achieved success in the successful inauguration of the Student Union Government of the Rivers State College of Health and Management Technology that has been an shambles for the last two years, the amicable resolution of Student Union Government differences, Mediation into the No fees payment no Exam policies from Institutions, the etablishment of a pact between the media house within the state and the Subsequent introduction of a Radio program tagged NANS Campue 917 every Saturday 10am with wave FM 91.7 And the Successful Student week Celebration from various Schools across the state And the successful launching of the NANS ALUTA GYRATION.

We are at euphoria to say that October offered us much opportunities to serve Nigerian Students better of which we utilized believing God that the month of November will have more to offer for our highly esteemed Nigerian Students and our dear organization NANS. Feel safe and secured to report all complains to our office through your Union President and the Representative of NANS in your various Campus.

Consequence to the visit of NANS JCC, Rivers State to Wave FM on Thursday, 14th October, 2021 and to Wazobia FM on Friday 15th October, 2021 the need for NANS to reach out the the student community through on Air Campus Gist was encouraged and in maxi effort to fulfill this a program has been set in place with the aid of the Management of these copacetic media houses presently situated in the States capital, Port Harcourt.

To this end, Every Sunday Evening on Wazobia FM 7:30 - 8:00pm and Every Saturday on Wave FM 10:00- 11:00 *Campus 917* has been set aside for the NANS JCC, Rivers State Campus Gist where our esteemed students can call in to report and discuss challenges faced by Nigerian Students in Rivers State.
