Her Sacrifice, Their Success!

International Women's day was born from early 1900s labor movements, including a 1908 protest by 15,000 women in New York City demanding better pay and voting rights.

German activist Clara Zetkin proposed the idea of an international day at a 1910 conference.

The inaugural IWD was held in 1911 in several European countries.

The date of March 8 was solidified in 1917 after women in Russia staged a strike for "Bread and Peace," which helped spark the Russian Revolution.

The United Nations officially began celebrating the day in 1975.

The key Importance was to honor the social, economic, cultural, educational and political achievements of women worldwide.

We at Lacec Model School use this opportunity to recognise and honour Lacec's proprietress, Dcns Ngowari Ezepue who left her circular job to join hands with her husband, Pastor Clement Ezepue to start a school in raising a godly generation.

We honor the mothers who give their time, energy, and wisdom to their children's education, understanding that by investing in their minds, they gain the immeasurable reward of a brighter future, truly exemplifying the principle of Give To Gain!
