Just before you blow your trumpet, be sure of your sound. It could either attract elephants or a troop of soldiers or probably an orchestra🤗

I have learnt to find the essence of whatever I do. This culture has helped me to be consistent and tenacious in the course I have chosen to do.

Jerry jacked off his bed at the sound of a musical instrument being played right in his uncle's house. What's this!

He tried to get back to sleep but his ears couldn't resist the melodic sounds from the instrument. Walking down the stairs, the sitting room was beautifully decorated with balloons and a cake right on the centre table. It's Uncle's birthday, his aunt exclaimed in excitement.

Jerry was inspired by the instrumentalist and he desired to play for people's birthday like the instrumentalist. He was focused on learning to play the 'Happy birthday' song and he achieved it after couple of months. Jerry tagged himself as a saxophonist and everyone believed him to be one.

Jerry was invited to perform in a concert. Was this a hype or what? Your thought is as good a mine. I'm sure he didn't see what was coming. He accepted the invitation and on the d-day, JerrySax was invited to do his performance.

The ovation got so loud when he was called up stage to perform and to the amazement of everyone, Jerry placed his lip over the mouthpiece to play and guess what, he could only play the happy birthday song.

The audience still listened in anticipation for more yet that was all he could play.

Don't be in a haste to go up, grow up. This was Jerry's mistake.
Growth is a silent move. You might not be loud but be sure you're growing. Your form will always give you a platform and just incase there is none, be a platform.

Re-sign

In this season of the academic session, the schools have some uncertainties; ranging from the number of learners to be admitted to staff who will not resume as active workers.

Some teachers are resigning while others are re-signing.

If you resigned, I believe you did that responsibly.

You need to revisit your CV and application letter again. Have you met up to the qualities you put up on your profile?

Are there qualities you need to inculcate to enhance the efficiency of your work?

Make a commitment to yourself to keep doing better.

When I see the tag, we are the best. I really ponder on the parameters that ascertained you as the best.

Best is abstract and we can aspire to be and do the best possible based on already existing bests😊.

In achieving this, your best might not be enough because what you rate to be best in your confines of exposure could be rated as good in another environment.

Find out the parameters and principles to deliver the best possible. Don't settle for the appraisal of family, friends and fans. Express your best before strangers and see their perception.

It might not be convenient to stretch especially when you are used to a particular level of success. It's fine you rest and regain momentum to stretch for the best possible.

Best is not a destination, its a journey.

When you walk into the class this morning, condition the atmosphere of your class through prayers.

It's a SECRET CODE for teachers that's not popularly mentioned but those who use it carry an atmosphere that does not support failure nor darkness.

Dull children walk into their class and they breath in the Spirit of excellence because the atmosphere had been configured by a teacher who knows the codes in the secret place.

I'm not arguing with you if it's professional or not to pray however, know this, the devil does not follow "professional" rules when he wants to cause havoc in your class.

Don't wait until the devil begins to wear a suit and tie to your class. He doesn't follow Protocols.

Unfortunately, we have young chaps who have been initiated into wizardry, cultism and dark powers yet we keep calm in the cover of being professional.

To your professionalism, add prayer 'biko' 🙏

🧿Experienced but Expired

I was about to put up a quote on my WhatsApp status and the streams of ideas flowed into a paragraphs. Just thought to share this😊

A new staff resumed office in my school and during our conversation, I was dazed after he revealed his level of experience and expertise. He was so exalted by the management that I began to trip for this guy. Hmmm... This guy is exceptional!

I was heading to the reception when a learner walked up to me grumbling, and I was eager to know what the matter was.
"Mr Godwin, is it right to eat an expired food?
I gave him a resounding NO!

" What do you do when you are given an expired food by an adult? "
I advised him to refuse such offer and asked to know if he has been given such?

He looked me in the eyes with a frown and expressed his feelings. This learner's narrative was a disappointment to my expectation.

The young lad explained that the new teacher told them that there were 9 planets and that's an outdated information.

I approached the new teacher to make corrections and he roared at me as his eyes turned red. I tried to explain that the information he gave was outdated but he would not listen as he kept confronting me with 'bla bla blue' vocabularies, showing off his tears of experience.

As an Educator, you need to learn to learn wherever you get a job. The strategies might not be what you are used to however, you can adapt and upgrade to suit your employer's demand and deliver results.

The learners are part of your resource aids. Don't 'bull s**t' them. Give them the opportunity to share their views about the topic and you'll be surprised at thier depth of knowledge and insight.
