Success of the Inauguration Event of the New Executives of RiSUMSA

The inauguration ceremony of the new Executive Council of the Rivers State University Medical Students’ Association (RiSUMSA), held on Saturday, 14th September , 2024 at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences Auditorium, was an outstanding success. The event marked a significant milestone in the association's journey, as a new leadership team was ushered in to steer the affairs of RiSUMSA for the upcoming tenure.

The outgoing executive council, led by Dapper Tamunoemi Kenneth, gave heartfelt speeches recounting their achievements, challenges, and the lessons learned during their tenure. Their dedication and service to the association were appreciated by all in attendance, and their efforts were applauded.

The highlight of the event was the formal swearing-in of the new executives, led by Waribo Daniel Isotu, who, in their inaugural speech, expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in them and outlined their vision for RiSUMSA. Key goals mentioned included fostering greater student involvement, advocating for better academic and social welfare, and strengthening collaboration between medical students and the university administration.

The Inauguration of the New Executives was undoubtedly a resounding success, and it set a positive tone for the tenure ahead. The event concluded with a strong sense of optimism and unity, as the students and looked forward to continued growth and success within RiSUMSA.

RISUMSA ACADEMIC COMMITTEE HOSTS ICM PREPARATORY CLASSES FOR 400L STUDENTS

On Tuesday, the executives of RISUMSA, in collaboration with the Academic Committee and Princess Owabie and her team, successfully hosted the ICM Preparatory Revision Series at the faculty building. This event is a testament to the association's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to supporting students' academic success.

We wish the students the very best of luck! May the knowledge and skills gained during the revision series serve as a valuable asset in their academic endeavors. We are confident that they will excel and make us proud!

RISUMSA PAYS COURTESY VISITS TO DR VETTY AGALA AND OUR STAFF ADVISER, DR AGARA; CONFER THEM HONORARY AWARDS

Yesterday, the executives of RISUMSA paid courtesy visits to two distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the association.

Dr. Vetty Agala, Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, and Dr. Humphrey Agara, Staff Adviser, were each presented with honorary awards in recognition of their commitment and dedication.

Dr. Agala's guidance and support have been instrumental in shaping the association's vision and objectives, also Dr. Agara's tireless efforts and mentorship have significantly contributed to the association's success.

These awards serve as a testament to their invaluable contributions and a small token of appreciation for their selfless dedication to the well-being and academic excellence of RISUMSAites.

THE RISUMSA DINNER AND AWARDS NIGHT 🍷🌟

The RENAISSANCE Dinner Night was a highly anticipated event designed to bring together medical students from various levels, faculty members, and special guests for an evening of networking, celebration, and relaxation. It took place at De Lasmall Hotels and Resort on Friday 4th August, and it was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among students and faculty. It provided a valuable platform for networking, celebration, and relaxation, leaving attendees looking forward to the next event of the health week.

Highlights of the night were the awards presentation, special performances and the amazing pageantry, that produced Mr. McHenry and Miss Martha as our maiden Mr and Miss RISUMSA.💫👑

RISUMSA HEALTHWEEK DAY 5: DONATION OUTREACH ( A DAY WITH THE KIDS) & MOVIE NIGHT

Yesterday, we had 2 wonderful events take place: the morning session was the ‘A DAY WITH THE KIDS PROGRAM’ at the David Bassey Homes. It was a heartwarming experience, with kids and participants alike enjoying games, storytelling, and bonding moments. It served as a beautiful reminder of the importance of community and connection.

Later, a Movie Night was held at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, providing a relaxed atmosphere for attendees to unwind and socialize.

Shorty after the males left the stage, the females surfaced with high gusto and enthusiasm.
At the end of the match, the Preclinicals Arm emerged winners of the Cup as they led clinicals by a goal. Congrats to you all🔥🏆.

PROVOST'S CUP FINALE (MALE EDITION)

By 3pm today ,the final derby was staged at Arena Field that led to the victory outcome of the 600 level class over their 200 level opponents, making De Genezers trophy winners of the RISUMSA HEALTH WEEK PROVOST'S CUP 2024. Kudos to De Mavericks for a great game so far.
