See 16 Signs You May Have HIV Without Knowing, Please its Important
A month or two after HIV has entered their body, 40-90% of the people experience symptoms that resemble flu symptoms, and this is known as acute retroviral syndrome (ARS).

But, in some cases the HIV symptoms don’t appear for years, even decades after the body has been infected.

These are some of the signs that may indicate you are HIV-positive.

#1.Fever

One of the first signs of ARS might be a mild fever, up to about 102 degrees
In case you experience the fever, you may also often experience other generally mellow side-effects, such as sore throat, swelling of the lymph organs, weakness etc.

2.Fatigue
One of the inflammatory responses of your overwhelmed immune system is the feeling of tiredness and lethargy. Fatigue can be an early sign of HIV, but a later one as well.

3.Sore throat and headache
According to Dr. Horberg, sore throat and headache are frequently recognized as ARS only in context.

One should be aware that the body still hasn’t produced antibodies to HIV, so an antibody test may not pick it up (the antibodies of HIV can be seen in a blood test from a few weeks to few months). One should find some other test options, like the one that detects viral RNA, usually within 9 days of the infections.

4.Skin rash
Skin rashes can be both early and late HIV/AIDS signs.

5.Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Around 30% to 60% of the people in the early stages of HIV deal with short-term nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, Dr.Malvestutto says.

6.Weight reduction
Called “guides squandering”, weight reduction is a sign of more propelled illness and can vary between a minor weight reduction to extreme looseness of the bowels.

7.Dry cough
Ron first noticed that something was wrong with him because of the dry cough. But, he thought it was some kind of allergy. According to Dr.Malvestutto, this cough is typical for patients of HIV who are very ill and could be going on for weeks, with you not seeing the way in which it would be resolved.

8.Pneumonia
Weight reduction and the H@ck might be a forecast of a genuine disease caused by a germ that wouldn’t cause any troubles if the invulnerable framework was working properly. Other opening diseases include toxoplasmosis, a parasitic contamination that affects the mind; a kind of herpes infection known as cytomegalovirus and yeast contaminations, like thrush for example.

9.Night sweats
Around 50% of people download night sweats in the early stages of HIV infection, Dr. Malvestutto explains. In the later stages, they become even more common and aren’t related to exercise or the room temperature.

10.Nail changes
Another sign of HIV contamination are nail changes, such as clubbing (bending and thickening of the nails), staining (dark lines or chestnut lines, placed vertically or on a level plane).
This is mostly the case because of some infectious disease, like Candida for example. According to Dr.Malvestutto, patients with worn out insusceptible frameworks are feebler to contagious contaminations.

11.Yeast infections
A fungal infection common in the later stages is thrush, mouth infection that is a result of Candida, which is a kind of yeast.
According to Dr.Malvestutto, it is one of the commonest funguses that cause yeast infection in women. Most frequently, they appear in the mouth, or the esophagus, and cause difficulties when swallowing.

12.Perplexity or trouble concentrating

Another sign of HIV-related dementia can be subjective issues, which appear mostly in the later stages of the disease. Perplexity and trouble concentrating aside, the AIDS-related dementia may also include problems with the memory and the behavior, like bitterness or irritability.

13.Cold sores or ge***al herpes
0ral herpes (cold sores) and ge***al herpes are an indication of both ARS and HIV in the late stages. Having herpes can also represent a risk factor for contracting HIV, since ge***al herpes may cause ulcer and thus make it easier for the HIV to enter the body during $ex. Also, people who have HIV usually have more severe herpes outbreaks more frequently because their immune system is weaker.

14.Shivering and shortcoming
Deadness and shivering in the feet and hands are also a sigh of HIV, in its later stages. The symptom is called fringe neuropathy, and it can also happen to people with uncontrolled diabetes.

Dr.Malvestutto explains that at this point the nerves are quite harmed. This can be treated with the help of over-the-counter distress relievers and anti-seizure medications, like Neurontin (gabapentin) is.

15.Menstrual irregularities
HIV disease in its late stages increases the risk of menstrual irregularities, like fewer and lighter periods.

16.Throbbing muscles, joint torment, swollen lymph hubs
Lymph hubs are part of the body’s insusceptible framework and are usually kindled in case of a disease. The most part of them is placed in the armpit, the neck and the crotch.
ARS is often confused for the seasonal cold virus, mononucleosis or another viral infectivity, even hepatitis or syphilis.
There’s a link between the HIV infection and the earlier menopause (47 to 48 years for infected women and 49 to 51 years for uninfected women).

5 Reasons Nigerian Children Are Not Speaking Their Native Language -

In the past children spoke Nigeria’s indigenous languages namely Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa fluently and unashamedly. However, today, the complete opposite is the case. Kids can barely communication in Efik or Idoma without adding a bit of English. The consequences of this are that many of these languages are facing extinction while some of them have gone extinct.

A research that is cited by those concerned to lend credence to the import of indigenous languages is that of former Minister of education, Prof. Babs Fafunwa. The late Prof made a case for the native language as the medium of education for the first 12 years of the child’s life.

Through an organized native language education program, they discovered children taught in the Yoruba language performed better. Regardless, it has not changed the fortunes of these languages because kids have refused to communicate. In line with this, Kikiotolu.com shares reasons children are not speaking their native language.

1. Parents don’t speak the languages to them
Parents don’t speak their mother tongue to their children anymore. In fact, some of these parents when they go for attending events one of the best hotels in Lagos , they order their children not to speak the language. How can such a child learn the language? Parents should speak more to their kids in their mother tongue.

2. It is tagged vernacular
In some schools today, Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo among other languages are banned because they are considered vernacular. A child who speaks his or her mother tongue would be penalized. So from the formative years of these children, they already have the perception that speaking their mother tongue is bad.

3. They are uncivilized
Many people believe that you are uncivilized or local if you speak your mother tongue. So, in other to join the bandwagon and be accepted, they dish Ibibio for English. This is all in the name of being civilized. Children have also been caught in this web

4. It is not compulsory in primary and secondary schools
While English is compulsory in secondary schools today, the indigenous languages are not even though a child must study one of these languages. Children will think the languages are a joke. Hence, they won’t bother to learn or speak it.

5. Technology
The engagement or interaction of children with technology is entirely in English. Their smartphone, video games, laptop and other tech gadgets are in English. So since many of them spend so much time with these gadgets, they don’t have anything to do with the languages. This is a challenge to Nigerian developers to design tech gadgets in the indigenous languages

Most ma*****na users enjoy the drug’s ability to induce a sense of euphoria, but that doesn’t come without side effects.

Indeed, research shows that using ma*****na can cause a variety of short and long-term effects.

While almost everyone is familiar with the sudden desire for junk food caused by smoking w**d — commonly referred to as the ‘munchies’ — many of the drug’s other effects are lesser known.

Here are 9 of the most common side effects of using cannabis:

1. Dry Mouth

Most people who use ma*****na are familiar with the side effect referred to as ‘cottonmouth’, meaning that users experience an uncomfortable feeling from lack of saliva production.

A survey published in the journal of Addiction Research & Theory in 2003 found that 79% of ma*****na users experience dry mouth.

“In a lot of cases, you would expect to see more of the dry mouth in a recreational user because they’re consuming, generally speaking, a lot more cannabis than the average medical user,” says Johnathan Werynski, Senior Cannabis Counselor at CanvasRX, a company that provides assistance to Canadians who have been prescribed cannabis by their doctors.

Users can help minimize the effect by chewing on gum or food, which can stimulate the salivary glands to produce saliva.

2. Dizziness

Many users report feeling dizzy after smoking cannabis, particularly when they stand up.

In a 1992 study, 60% of participants reported moderate to severe dizziness while standing after smoking a high-potency ma*****na joint.

The individuals in the study who experienced severe dizziness also showed decreases in blood pressure, which provides a plausible explanation for this effect.

However, studies also show that frequent users can develop a tolerance to many of ma*****na’s short-term effects, including feelings of dizziness.

3. Increased Appetite

One of the most known side effects of ma*****na is the ‘munchies’. Shortly after smoking, many users will experience a sudden increase in appetite, often le

For Nigerians to defeat non communicable
diseases and live long, they must avoid
excessive or continuous intake of smoked fish,
roasted corn, roasted plantain and other
enticing, but unhealthy foods, the Managing
Director, Integrated Medical Centre, Dr. Damilola
Familoni has said.
She notes that though these were hard to resist
delicacies for Nigerians, they were ladened with
cancer causing effects and other disease risk
factors which manifests much later in life,
stressing that one of the surest prevention
methods against cancer, diabetes, hypertension
and obesity was adopting a healthy lifestyle
which includes healthy living.
Speaking at the celebration of AVON Health
Management Organisation at Three, and the
launch of its online service in Lagos, she said
Nigerians must be educated on what types of
foods to be avoided or eaten, as education was
key to tackling the rising health indices in the
country. “For instance, anyone with Blood type O
has no reason eating plantain at all,” she adds.
According to her, “disease burden was
becoming prominent in Nigeria, hence it was
best to adopt healthcare provision that would
make them spend less while getting adequate
and appropriate diagnosis, treatment and
management of their various health issues.
“All these can’t be addressed by out-of-pocket
health provision as majority of Nigerians are
living below the poverty line and are unable to
afford healthcare. But with health insurance, it is
easier to maximally take advantage of healthcare
provision. Organisations, governments and
individuals should adopt this model if we must
reduce incidence of health issues in the country,”
Familoni added.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer, AVON
HMO, Mrs. Adesimbo Ukiri said with the launch
of the online service, Nigerians can now buy and
enroll to health plans from the organisation’s
website via their mobile phones, laptops and
tablets.
She said: “When we started three years ago, our
belief was that Nigerians from all walks of life
should be able to access good quality healthcare
services when they need it, without financial
constraint leading to unnecessary complications
and fatalities .
“With our health plans starting as low as
N15,000 per year, we have indeed brought
quality healthcare services to the average
Nigerian. Subscription to an Avon HMO plan
means that whenever a covered ill health or
accident occurs, the state of one’s finances
won’t matter as Avon HMO oversees the
healthcare service delivery and foots the bill. By
giving people the ability to buy and subscribe
online via mobile phones and other devices, we
are bringing convenient and affordable healthcare
services to everyone.”
She sad with the innovation, the current three to
four per cent of Nigerians using health insurance
will increase.

Na Wa O!! Nigeria Ranked Third Most Terrorized Nation In The World- GTI Reports

The Institute for Economics and Peace has released the Global Terrorism for 2016, a document which helps in measuring and understanding the impact of terrorism globally.

According to the report, Nigeria’s position did not change in the ranking, from what it was last year. The nation still ranked 3rd in the world, with regards to operations of terrorists.

Below is the list of most terrorized nations in the world, a very devastating report for Nigerians who can no longer endure the menace of the Boko Haram Sect.

Though Nigeria still occupies its position as 3 most terrorised nation in the world, the report still reveals that Iraq and Nigeria had the largest reduction on deaths from terrorism from 2014 to 2015.

The gains made against Boko Haram by the Nigerian military, however became the pains of the country’s neighbours – Niger and Cameroon – as the terrorist group spilled over and created more deaths in the two countries than previously recorded.

“Niger recorded a devastating year with 11 terrorism deaths in 2014 rising to 649 in 2015. This is the largest proportional increase of any country and is due to the expansion of Boko Haram,” the report said.

Niger is now 16th in the latest ranking, compared to the 51st position it occupied in last year. The deteriorating terrorism attacks in Cameroon also moved it from 20th position it was in 2015 to 14th in 2016.

ISIL, the Islamic militant group in Iraq, has now overtaken Boko Haram as the deadliest terrorist group in 2015, the report said.

The report said: “Despite the decrease in deaths from terrorism, Nigeria still experienced a high rate of violent deaths.

“In addition to terrorism victims, there were at least 4,422 battle-related deaths from the conflict between Boko Haram and the Nigerian Government in 2015, down from 8,233 in 2014.”

The report said on the average, Boko Haram killed 11 people per attack in Nigeria, and that the attacks were mainly targeted at civilians.

“Four out of five deaths from terrorism in Nigeria are civilians,” it said. “This is one of the highest targeting of civilians anywhere in the world.

“Whilst the majority of fatalities were caused by armed assaults with fi****ms and knives, there has been an increase in the use of bombings and explosions, a tactic Boko Haram has been increasingly using after receiving explosives training from al-Shabaab.

“In 2013, Boko Haram conducted 35 bombings which killed 107 people. In 2015 there were 156 bombings that killed 1,638. Nearly two thirds of the bombings in 2015 were su***de bombings, which on average killed ten people per attack,” the report revealed.

O LG POLLS: OYO APC ROLLS OUT PLANS, ASSURES OF TRANSPARENT PRIMARIES
Sequel to the recent release of the official time-table for the conduct of February 2017 Local Government/Local Council Development Areas elections in Oyo State by the State Independent Electoral Commission on Monday, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has assured its members and the general public of a hitch-free and acceptable party primaries that would facilitate the emergence of competent and credible candidates.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by its Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare, the APC expressed its surprise over what it described as problem-inducing in view of the date set aside for the sales of nomination forms and completion of party primaries.
"As a political party that means business at all times, we would have wished that OYSIEC's time-table would give us an ample opportunity to do all the needful particularly as it concerned the time frame for the sales of nomination forms to prospective aspirants and conduct of party primaries but being that as it may, we shall seek the collaboration of other political parties to secure the attention of the Commission and address some grey areas.
"Apparently, APC is the party to beat at any election in Oyo State and being a party with the 80 per cent population of political actors in the state and if the worse comes to the worse, we would be able to manage our teeming chairmanship and councillorship aspirants within just three to four days and get acceptable aspirants for the large number of posts being contested.
"Meanwhile, we call on our members eyeing either chairmanship or councillorship posts in all the 33 local government areas and the 35 local government development areas to visit the party secretariat at Oke-Ado, Ibadan from 12 noon on Wednesday November 16, 2016 for necessary information on payment for the collection of nomination as well as expression of interest forms.
"In the same vein, APC party chairmen and their secretaries from across the 33 local government areas are enjoined to report at the state secretariat on Wednesday to attend an emergency meeting where the guidelines for the conduct of primaries, as stipulated by OYSIEC, would be circulated." The statement said.
