WATCH • Behind the workshop

A lava lamp experiment brought to life by students from Kimara Kutwa Secondary School in Tanzania 🇹🇿

💡 Here are 3 Fun facts about lava lamps:
• Lava lamps work through density, oil and water don’t mix, and the “lava” moves because of temperature changes;
• The original lava lamp was invented in 1963 by British entrepreneur Edward Craven Walker;
• The bubbling effect is caused by heat (traditionally from a light bulb) creating convection currents inside the liquid.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS • We recently hosted a workshop at Olivet Baptist High School in Oyo, , where students explored acids and bases through practical experiments, deepening their understanding of key scientific concepts.

A key takeaway was gaining insight into the role of acids and bases in everyday life, from household substances to biological and environmental processes, helping students connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
