Soldier Story – Episode 1: Parade Wahala

My people, make una gather make I yarn small barracks gist wey still dey make me laugh anytime I remember am. Soldier life no be beans oo, but sometimes e dey funny pass Nollywood comedy.

One morning, dem blow bugle for parade ground. Everybody rush come out — some still dey half-sleep, some never even baff. Omo, na there you go know say uniform dey expose person wella. One recruit wear him boot for left leg right leg, him two feet bend like person wey wan dance Zanku. 😂

As parade start, oga shout, “Left, right! Left, right!!” The mumu boy go dey march front when others dey back, dey shout “left” when everybody don already shout “right.” Oga vex shout, “You dey do frog jump today!” My guy answer, “Yes sir!” Omo barracks burst laugh! Even oga wey vex before nearly laugh faint but him hold am.

That day ehn, I realize say soldier life dey teach you discipline but e still get plenty comedy inside. If you never see parade wahala live, you no go understand how person fit nearly fall down for laughter and still dey fear punishment at the same time.

Soldier life na mixture — sometimes sweat, sometimes laugh, but always lesson.
