FECOLART MOURNS THE PASSING OF PASTOR DR. CHARLES EGBUFOR

The Management, Staff, and Students of the Federal College of Land Resources Technology (FECOLART), Owerri, deeply mourn the passing of our former Librarian and Lecturer, Pastor Dr. Charles Egbufor.

Dr. Egbufor was a dedicated academic, administrator, and servant of God whose contributions to the College and the lives of those he encountered will be fondly remembered.

As we mourn this great loss, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and the entire Christian community. We pray that God grants the family the strength and comfort to bear this irreparable loss.

Burial Arrangements:

- Songs of Songs: Monday, 7th September 2026, at RCCG, Obinze.
- Burial/Interment: Thursday, 10th September 2026.

FECOLART Successfully Concludes NBTE Accreditation, Resource Verification and Re-accreditation Exercise

The Federal College of Land Resources Technology (FECOLART), Owerri, has successfully concluded the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) accreditation, resource verification, and re-accreditation exercise after days of intensive assessment and evaluation.

The exercise, which demanded significant commitment from both the academic and non-academic staff of the College, began with the arrival of the NBTE accreditation team on 21st July, 2026. The team officially commenced the assessment on 22nd July, 2026, and continued through 23rd July, 2026, carrying out a comprehensive evaluation of the institution.

During the exercise, the accreditation team visited the various departments slated for accreditation, where they inspected classrooms, laboratories, workshops, libraries, equipment, and other learning facilities. The team also conducted a detailed assessment of the records and files of both teaching and non-teaching staff to ensure compliance with NBTE standards and quality assurance requirements.

The exercise concluded with a closing ceremony, during which the accreditation team formally presented its findings and report to the Chief Executive Officer/Provost of FECOLART, Dr. Bede Eberechukwu Onwujiariri. The Provost commended members of staff for their dedication, teamwork, and unwavering commitment throughout the exercise, while reaffirming the College's resolve to sustain excellence in technical and vocational education.

With the successful completion of the accreditation exercise, prospective students and parents can confidently apply for admission into the College's accredited programmes without hesitation, knowing that FECOLART continues to uphold the high academic and professional standards prescribed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). The successful exercise further reinforces the College's reputation as one of Nigeria's leading institutions for technical and vocational education, committed to producing competent, skilled, and industry-ready graduates.

Our amiable and indefatigable Provost, Dr. Onwujiariri Bede Eberechukwu, has fulfilled his promise to support members of staff pursuing postgraduate studies.

On the 5th of May, during the celebration of his birthday, he graciously promised to provide financial support of ₦100,000 to each PhD candidate and ₦50,000 to each MSc candidate among the staff. True to his word, the beneficiaries received the funds on the 16th of June.

In appreciation of this remarkable gesture, the privileged staff gathered today to officially express their gratitude to the Provost for his unwavering support and commitment to staff development.

On behalf of all the beneficiaries, I extend our heartfelt appreciation to our supportive and visionary Provost for this generous act of kindness. We pray that God will continue to bless him abundantly, prosper the work of his hands, grant him greater wisdom, and crown his tenure with outstanding success and lasting achievements.
