*ADVERTISEMENT FOR 2026/2027 FUTO POST-UTME SCREENING EXERCISE FOR SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION*

Candidates who chose Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) as their first choice university in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are hereby invited to the Supplementary Screening Exercise for admissions. The following conditions apply:

1.. Application portal will open on *Thursday, September 24, 2026,* and close on *Thursday, October 8, 2026.*

2.. ONLY candidates that are at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, are ELIGIBLE to apply.

3.. Each candidate must ensure that his/her JAMB subject combination is as prescribed in the JAMB brochure for the programme applied for.

4.. Candidates who did not choose FUTO as their first choice University but scored a minimum of 150 can also apply on the condition that they visit the JAMB CAPS and change to FUTO.

5.. Only candidates with at least 5 O’Level Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics, with three other relevant O’Level subjects (depending on the programme) at not more than two sittings are eligible to apply.

6.. ONLY candidates who scored a minimum of 150 in their UTME are ELIGIBLE to apply. The minimum JAMB Score requirements for various programmes are as follows:

7. *Mode of Payment and Registration Procedure*

Eligible candidates are required to pay an application fee of N18,000.00 if they had earlier applied for the Post-UTME Screening, or N20,000.00 for a fresh application.

8. *Nature of the Screening Exercise*

The 2026/2027 Post-UTME Screening Exercise shall be based on verified JAMB scores and O’Level results uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

9. *Important Notices*

a. Ensure that your details on JAMB CAPS (including programme of choice) match what you have on the Post-UTME application portal. For instance, ensure that you use your correct JAMB Registration number, date of birth, state of origin, etc., for application.

b.. You must enter a valid mobile number and e-mail address for further communication.

c.. You must upload your O’Level results on JAMB CAPS, NOT LATER THAN Thursday, October 8, 2026. To ensure that your O’Level results are uploaded to CAPS, click ”Refresh” after entering your results.

d.. Those who fail to register within the period stipulated WILL NOT be considered for the Exercise.

e.. ONLY candidates who successfully submit applications online will be considered for admission.

10.. *To register, follow these steps:*

a. (i) Visit the University website: www.futo.edu.ng, click on “Prospective Students”, then click on “Undergraduate”

OR

(ii) Use this link: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/

b. Click on “Generate invoice”

c. Enter your JAMB Registration Number to generate Payment Invoice containing the Remita Retrieval Reference Number (RRR).

d. Proceed to any Bank with the payment invoice OR simply pay with your ATM Card.

e. Return to the Application portal: https://portal.futo.edu.ng/

f. Click on “Application Form”

g. Enter your JAMB Registration number and click on “Login”.

h. Proceed with the completion of the form.

i. Correctly enter all your details as required.

j. Confirm your entries.

k. Submit your application (Note that your application is COMPLETED only when you click “Submit”).

l. Print out your acknowledgement slip.

m. Await further communication from the University.

FUTO JUPEB Foundation School Celebrates Outstanding 2026 Results as Two Students Score Perfect 16 Points

The Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) JUPEB Foundation School has recorded an impressive performance in the 2026 JUPEB Examinations, with two candidates achieving the maximum score of 16 points.

The outstanding candidates are:

1. Ifeka Chidera Gabriella — 16 Points (Overall Best)
2. Nnorom Mary-Cherish Chiemela — 16 Points

The Foundation School also recorded other commendable performances, with two candidates scoring 15 points, ten candidates scoring 14 points, and fifteen candidates scoring 13 points.

Strong Performance Across Key Subjects

The results further indicate notable performance across the major subjects, with the following pass rates recorded:

- Biology — 86.2%
- Chemistry — 71.0%
- Physics — 62.8%
- Mathematics — 22.7%

The achievements reflect the commitment of the students, lecturers and management of the JUPEB Foundation School to academic excellence and effective preparation for university education.

The Foundation School Management has congratulated the successful candidates, describing them as “shining stars” and expressing pride in their outstanding performance.

The management particularly celebrates the two candidates who achieved the perfect 16-point score, as well as all other students who distinguished themselves in the examination.

The 2026 JUPEB results further highlight the role of the FUTO JUPEB Foundation School in providing students with a strong academic pathway towards university education.

FUTO VC Hosts Mbaise Secondary School Old Boys Association on Courtesy Visit

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Prof. Ikechukwu Nosike Simplicius Dozie, has received members of the Mbaise Secondary School Old Boys Association on a courtesy visit.

The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Owerri Branch, Mr. Ekene Casmir, and Chief Barr. Cyril Anyanwu, a member of the Association’s Board of Trustees, visited the Vice-Chancellor to congratulate him on his assumption of office and strengthen the relationship between the Association and one of its distinguished old boys.

The visitors described Prof. Dozie as a "Worthy Old Boy" of Mbaise Secondary School, and briefed him on the Association’s activities, forthcoming school events and other matters concerning the institution.

In his response, Prof. Dozie expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit and their continued solidarity. He particularly recalled the Association’s presence and support during his Inaugural Lecture, describing the gesture as memorable.

The Vice-Chancellor pledged his continued support for the Association and expressed his willingness to contribute to initiatives aimed at advancing the interests and development of their alma mater.

Members of the FUTO Management team who accompanied the Vice-Chancellor included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Engr. FUTOWA Champions Campus Clean-Up at Otamiri River Recreation Area to Mark World Cleanup Day 2026

In commemoration of World Cleanup Day 2026, the FUTO Women Association (FUTOWA) has led a campus-wide environmental clean-up exercise at the Otamiri River recreation area of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).

The initiative, sponsored by , was organised in collaboration with and , highlighting the important connection between environmental sustainability, public health and healthy living.

Armed with gloves, rakes and collection bags, FUTOWA members, volunteers and partners worked together to remove plastic waste, debris and accumulated refuse along the riverbank and recreation corridor, helping to restore the cleanliness, beauty and safety of the area.

Speaking during the exercise, the FUTOWA President, Dr. Mrs. Chinomso Patricia Dozie
emphasised that environmental stewardship is an important part of the association’s advocacy and community service, stressing that protecting the university’s environment and water bodies is essential for public health, biodiversity and the overall well-being of the FUTO community.

The collaboration with Gleam Solutions and Hearts and Roses Cancer Advocacy Foundation further demonstrated a shared commitment to environmental responsibility, preventive healthcare and sustainable community development.

The exercise reaffirmed a simple but powerful message: a clean environment supports a healthy community.
