STRANGE STUDENT
EPISODE 1
Jss2 students were given their test results for the first term and Lilian was on her desk smiling on her paper while Dorcas her best friend wasn't giving any happy expression.
Lilian was having 98/100 while Dorcas managed to get 85/100. She was not happy about her results as she slowly put the paper inside her backpack.
Lilian exhaled.
Lilian: Don't be sad, we're not done with this term yet. We still have exams to write and who knows, you might be higher than me. You really tried with 85/100.
Dorcas turned to look at her before letting out a sad chuckle.
Dorcas: What made you think that I'll ever get higher than you in an exam or a test? Ofcourse you know that's impossible.
Lilian: Stop saying such... I don't know why I don't feel comfortable whenever you say such. Ofcourse you can get higher than me if you want to, just put more efforts.
Dorcas face brightened up with a smile.
Dorcas: Having you as a best friend is a great achievement. I love you just the way you are. — Her expression suddenly changed to a sad one.
Dorcas: I understand that you're always bullied and insulted for being a fat girl but I must say, you're strong.
Lilian sniffed and started getting flashbacks of how she always cries every night as a result of being bullied. She has been hiding her pain from both her parents and Dorcas, she felt like she doesn't want to share her pain with anyone.
A tear attempted to fall from her eyes when she quickly cleaned it off. Dorcas noticed the action, she narrowed her eyes and placed her finger on Lilian's cheek.
Dorcas: Is that a tear? Are you tearing up?
Lilian quickly forced out a laugh.
Lilian: Ofcourse not! Why would I be shedding tears? Their bullying doesn't get to me at all, that's their business not mine. — She lied.
Lilian: I'm created to be a fat girl, I don't see a reason why I should get bullied for being fat. — She shrugged and forced out a smile then someone snatched her paper from her hand.
Lilian shifted her gaze to the snatcher and it turned out to be Jessica, the one that bullies her the most among all bullies.
Jessica accessed the paper and gave a smirk.
Jessica: Wow! So you got a higher mark than me? — She asked with a hard glare, making Lilian uncomfortable while Dorcas shifted very close to Lilian, she was also glaring hard at Jessica.
Jessica was known to be intelligent too but she hates it whenever Lilian gets a higher mark than her. She gets extremely jealous whenever such happens.
She turned to look at Dorcas who was glaring hard and holding onto Lilian like a saviour. She chuckled.
Jessica: All you know how to do is defend her. Don't you have anything else to do other than always defending Lilian?
Dorcas: I don't blame you. — She said through gritted teeth then Lilian decided to speak up.
Lilian: Can I have my paper back?
Jessica turned to look at her and tore the paper that instant. She dragged Lilian up from her desk and Dorcas stood too. Jessica's palm was still on Lilian's collar while staring at her with a daring facial expression.
Jessica: Fat pigg! Your paper is torn now. Oh my gosh, what are you going to do now? — She pretended to make a sad face which was a form of mockery.
Lilian couldn't help it anymore, tears began streaming down her cheeks. Her cheeks flushed red as she kept crying.
Dorcas bravely brushed away Jessica's hand from Lilian's collar and what landed on her face was a thunderous sl@p.
Jessica: Don't ever try such with me next time. — She warned but Dorcas wasn't having it, she gave Jessica a slap in return while Jessica pushed her down to the desk.
A force got into Lilian then she pushed Jessica to the floor too. Her pupil turned from black to fl@mes, f!re rushed out of her palms. She was currently in a supernatural state that only Lilian could see.
She transferred the f!re from her palms to Jessica's body. Her body was burning in fl@mes while Lilian controlled the pa!n with just the moving of her both palms.
Tomorrow's episode will be on my profile ->> Lucky Chimaobi, please do well to follow.
Jessica kept screaming, her voice cutting through the walls of the classroom as she haven't experienced such pa!n in her entire life.
Jessica: F!RE! F!RE! ARRGGHHHHH!
Dorcas became scared of Jessica's screams, the students began gasping in shock. They could only see Lilian moving her both palms and looking angry but they weren't seeing any f!re.
Dorcas: Why's she screaming f!re? I'm so confused. — She muttered, while still staring at the scene. She wanted to stop Lilian somehow but she was afraid of doing that.
Lilian: Learn how to stop tempting a fat pig. I would make sure you regret tearing my test paper. — She said and increased the pa!n from the fire while Jessica kept screaming as though she was going to f@int that moment.
Dorcas and other students heard what Lilian said but they still weren't seeing any form of f!re. Screams of Jessica grew even higher. This got everyone worried and confused because such has never happened in their class.

Back to School Hacks for Nigerian Parents –
This article contains our top back-to-school hacks to help you and your children get ready for the new school year. Hope you find them very helpful.
The back-to-school period is usually received with mixed feelings by parents all around the world. Whether you can’t wait till your children are back in school or dread the more regimented days ahead, there’s one thing we are sure of – that back-to-school period is always a big transition.
This is because it signals the time to go back to our daily and weekly routines which were otherwise put on hold or altered during the holidays. Children who are starting school for the first time or moving to a new school have to cope with major adjustments but even those who are just moving up a grade also experience a few changes in their academics and social circles.
Helping children successfully navigate the back-to-school period is a full-time task.
One of the reasons is that they often find it hard to get back into a regular schedule, and as parents, it is our duty to get them in the right frame of mind before school starts.
Our Top 5 Back-to-School Hacks
#1. Visit their School
Of all the back-to-school hacks we would be sharing in this article, visiting your child’s school might be the most important. This is highly recommended for parents whose children are starting a new school or moving from one section to another (maybe elementary to secondary section).
In order to get your child ready for the new session, you need to pay a visit to the school and try to get familiar with the teachers and some of their teaching methods. You can click here to get the full list of questions to ask when you visit your child’s school.
P.H.D Group of Schools organises regular parent forums for new and existing parents, and over the years, it has been very helpful. With this in place, when school resumes your child will find it easier to adapt and fit into the new school environment.
#2. Set up new routines and practice it with them
As the holidays draw to a close, it is a good time to introduce new back-to-school routines into your everyday lives. Both children and adults will benefit from practising these new routines quite early.
In the last few days of summer, you can move bedtime back to the time it was before the holidays began. It will not only help you predict and determine how early you and your children need to get up, but your children will benefit from learning what to expect each weekday.
#3. Have conversations about the new school term
Have conversations with your children about the new school term. This will provide an avenue for them to discuss their fears, goals and expectations. You can also use this period to help them figure out the best strategies they can use to achieve their objectives.
Whatever topics you choose to discuss, talking about school will stimulate your child to begin focusing on the school term ahead.
#4. Review school material and information
Schools send out relevant information through various channels — (print or electronic) to parents during the holidays. The back-to-school period is a good time to actually go through these materials.
They could contain useful information such as important dates to remember, emergency forms, and transportation routines and fee changes.
Make sure that you read through this information carefully, and markdown all important dates on your calendar. This will help you make adequate plans for the school term.
#5. Take them shopping with you
Children get excited when they are involved in planning any major activity or event.
While you take advantage of the numerous back-to-school offers and promotions available in stores, it would be a great idea to have your kids will pick out the items they would need. Doing so will help them feel prepared and will also provide an opportunity to talk about how the new supplies might be used in the coming term.
Other back-to-school hacks every parent must know.
#6. Pay a visit to the doctor
The period before the school finally resumes is usually the best time to get your child to see the doctor. It is a good time to get the necessary vaccinations and learn new ways through which your child can stay healthy throughout the school year.
#7. Re-introduce them to books
Research has shown that children who are not creatively engaged during the summer experience “summer slide” or “summer learning loss.” Before children go back to school it is always advisable to re-introduce them to educational materials such as books, tapes and movies.
These materials will help them remember some of the things they might have forgotten during the summer and prepare their minds for school work.
#8. Prepare for the unexpected
This is one of the major back-to-school hacks we often suggest to parents. Try to get a back up for some of the things that are directly outside your control. For example, a backup baby sitter in case the current one calls in sick or a spare car to drop them off at school in case you are not able to do it yourself.
This reduces the effects of stress you may face due to unforeseen circumstances.
As we conclude the list of our top back-to-school hacks for parents, remember the key to a smooth transition is starting early and getting your children involved in the preparation process. We look forward to an amazing school term.
