The Need to Site a Church of Christ Bible College in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria.
Mbaise, a region in Imo State, Nigeria, is widely recognized for its deeply religious community, with Christianity playing a significant role in the cultural and spiritual lives of the people. As part of the global body of the Church of Christ, there is a compelling and strategic need to establish a Bible College in Mbaise to further the mission of Christ and equip local believers for effective ministry. Below are key reasons why this is essential:
1. Strengthening the Presence of the Church of Christ in the Region
Although the Church of Christ exists in various parts of Mbaise and Imo State, its impact is limited due to a shortage of trained ministers and teachers. A Bible College located within Mbaise would serve as a hub for nurturing indigenous preachers and leaders who understand the local culture and language. This would greatly strengthen the Church of Christ’s presence and influence in the region.
2. Meeting the Demand for Theological Education
There is a rising interest among young men and women in Mbaise to study the Bible and serve in ministry. However, the absence of a local Church of Christ Bible College forces them to travel long distances to other states like Lagos, Rivers, or even outside Nigeria, incurring high costs. By setting up a Bible College in Mbaise, the Church can meet this demand locally and remove economic and logistical barriers to theological education.
3. Combating Doctrinal Errors and Religious Confusion
Many churches in Mbaise, though well-attended, are plagued by doctrinal errors, unscriptural teachings, and emotionalism without solid biblical foundations. A Church of Christ Bible College would focus on training leaders in sound doctrine based on the New Testament pattern, restoring biblical Christianity and providing clarity in a religiously mixed environment.
4. Promoting Indigenous Evangelism and Church Planting
A Bible College in Mbaise would serve as a training ground for evangelists and church planters who will reach unreached communities within Mbaise, Imo State, and beyond. This aligns with the Church of Christ’s emphasis on local and global evangelism, as seen in Acts 1:8. Well-equipped preachers can take the gospel to villages and centres where the Church of Christ has yet to be established.
5. Encouraging Youth Involvement in Ministry
Mbaise has a vibrant and youthful population, many of whom are zealous for God but lack proper guidance. A Bible College would help identify, mentor, and train these youths to become future preachers, teachers, elders, and missionaries within the Church of Christ, thereby ensuring continuity of sound leadership.
6. Socio-Economic and Community Impact
Beyond spiritual training, a Church of Christ Bible College would contribute to the development of Mbaise through job creation, educational opportunities, and community engagement. Graduates will not only serve the church but also contribute positively to society through moral leadership and community development initiatives.
7. Strategic Central Location
Mbaise is geographically central within Imo State and accessible to neighbouring communities such as Owerri, Ngor-Okpala, Aboh Mbaise, and parts of Abia and Anambra States. Siting a Bible College here would make it a regional training centre for the entire southeastern zone of Nigeria.
Conclusion
The establishment of a Church of Christ Bible College in Mbaise is not only desirable but necessary. It offers a long-term solution to the challenges facing the church in this region and aligns with the biblical mandate to “teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2). It is an investment in the spiritual future of the Church of Christ in Nigeria and a powerful tool for evangelism, church growth, and doctrinal restoration.
Yours faithfully,
Bekee Uchenna Fortune

Great Hidden Treasures Christian ministry, Update; 13/04/2023.
Greetings from all of us at, Great Hidden Treasures Christian ministry.
It's essentially adequate for me to use this opportunity and space to express my heart to all of our great supporters and team partners for the marvellous commitment and unflinching support you have continued to give to us and the ministry. It's because you are here that we are able to keep flying the airspace of Christian education and gospel preaching and humanitarian services.
You have done greatly and I appreciate your commitment. The Lord knows what impact you are making in this part of the globe. Lives are touched in amazing ways.
Brethren, 11 days from today, our Mission schools will reopen for the third Semester activities. The Easter break has afforded us opportunity to get some rest and receive strength to continue to serve our lord. It's very obvious that things are very difficult globally and moreso in low income countries like Nigeria. The schools are growing and pupils and students are learning life and preparing for their full participation in the world after these levels of education. Our staff members are very dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to the school population as well. The story of our achievements cannot be overemphasised by anyone.
FUNDING:
Since the beginning of this year, we have being battling with poor funding unlike the previous years. The cost of operating our schools and other ministry activities have not been achieved at all. The Semester budget is at, $40,000 and since the year, we have only gotten $10,500. This exposed us to huge debt during the last Semester and till now, we are not able to settle the debt burden. When we reopen on the 24th of this month, there will be basically no funds to carry on with the activities because we we have as stated, will be used to settle last Semester debts and there will be reasonable amounts that will not be cleared up.
REQUEST:
As pertinent as it always is, we are looking up to your Holy Spirit motivated donations and gifts of Charity, of memorial, of, inheritance, of tax returns etc to continue to provide the well defined services to our community. Your support is pivotal and indeed the bedrock of this ministry. When people of God who acknowledge His generousity and benevolence give to any cause, it causes earthbreaking and mighty impacts on both the receivers givers.
Help us raise the funds needed for this third Semester activities. It will be dangerous to close the doors of Great Hidden Treasures Christian ministry because of lack of funding.
MY HOPE:
My hope is that one day , Great Hidden Treasures Christian Schools will become, self-supporting and our resources will be able to meet up with our needs. Because of the undeveloped nature of the area where the schools are located, we have this financial support burden. When, in the future, the economic situation changes, this financial support appeals will be reduced.
OPTIMISTIC ABOUT WHAT?
We are optimistic that you are a wonderful partner and your generous supports will change this debt -ridden situation we are experiencing at the moment.
A donation of any amount would be appreciated and wisely utilised to the glory of God.
