THE MYSTERIOUS GIFT ( Prt3cont)
A beautiful young woman stood outside wearing a white dress and smiling warmly.
The moment she smiled, she said through the door,
"Oma... are you home?"
Barbie gasped.
Only one person had ever called her Oma when she was little.
Amanda.
But this couldn't be Amanda.
Amanda had left Nigeria years ago.
Barbie slowly opened the door.
The woman hugged her tightly.
"I've missed you so much," she said.
Barbie forced a smile, but something didn't feel right.
Amanda smelled exactly the same.
She laughed the same way.
She even had the small scar above her eyebrow.
Yet there was one thing she remembered clearly...
Amanda's eyes were brown.
The woman standing before her had bright gray eyes.
As if she noticed Barbie staring, the woman smiled wider.
"May I come in?" she asked softly.
Without waiting for an answer, she stepped inside.
Her eyes immediately landed on the pink gift box.
"There it is," she whispered.
Then she turned to Barbie.
"I've come to take what's inside."
Barbie tightened her grip on the silver key hidden in her pocket.
"The box was empty," she replied.
For the first time, Amanda's smile disappeared.
She looked directly into Barbie's eyes and said in a calm voice,
"Then you're already in more danger than you realize."
Before Barbie could ask what she meant, someone knocked on the back door.
Three slow knocks.
Knock...
Knock...
Knock...
Amanda's face turned pale.
She grabbed Barbie's arm so tightly it hurt.
"They found you."

THE MYSTERIOUS GIFT (Part 3)
The lid continued to rise.
Slowly.
Silently.
Barbie stood frozen, unable to move. Her breathing became shallow as she stared at the pink box sitting in the middle of her living room. She wanted to run, but her legs refused to obey.
The room was completely dark except for the faint light from her phone lying on the floor.
The lid finally opened.
Nothing jumped out.
Nothing moved.
Barbie waited.
Five seconds.
Ten seconds.
Still nothing.
Gathering every ounce of courage, she picked up a kitchen broom and slowly walked toward the table. Her hands shook so badly that she almost dropped it.
She leaned over and looked inside.
The box was empty.
Absolutely empty.
"No... that's impossible," she whispered.
She had heard the tapping.
She had seen the lid open by itself.
How could there be nothing inside?
Just as she was about to step back, she noticed something lying at the bottom of the box.
A tiny silver key.
It wasn't there before.
She carefully picked it up.
The key felt strangely warm, as though someone had been holding it only moments earlier. On one side was engraved a single number:
27
"What does twenty-seven mean?" she wondered aloud.
Suddenly, the lights came back on.
Everything looked normal again.
The television switched on by itself, startling her.
The news presenter was speaking excitedly.
"...and authorities are still searching for the owner of the abandoned mansion on Hillcrest Road, Number 27. Residents claim strange lights have been seen inside the building every night for the past week..."
Barbie's heart skipped a beat.
She looked at the key.
Then at the television.
The number matched.
Before she could think any further, someone rang the doorbell.
Ding... D**g...
Exactly once.
Barbie checked the time.
10:00 a.m.
Her blood ran cold.
The letter.
"The person who will visit you tomorrow at exactly 10:00 a.m..."
With trembling hands, she walked to the door and looked through the peephole.

THE MYSTERIOUS GIFT (Prt 2 cont)
Barbie read the letter twice.
Then a third time.
Only one person had ever called her by that childhood nickname.
Her older cousin, Amanda.
But Amanda had moved abroad nearly ten years ago. They hadn't spoken in years.
"This doesn't make any sense," Barbie muttered.
She grabbed her phone and dialed Amanda's old number.
"The number you have dialed is not available."
She searched social media.
Amanda's accounts had disappeared.
Every single one.
A cold shiver ran down Barbie's spine.
Just then, the lights in the house went out.
Darkness.
Complete darkness.
The electricity had failed.
Barbie quickly turned on her phone flashlight.
The beam landed on the pink gift box.
Something was different.
The white ribbon she had untied only minutes earlier...
..was tied perfectly again, as if no one had ever touched it.
She slowly backed away.
"No..."
She was certain she hadn't imagined untying it.
Then she heard it.
A faint sound.
Tap...
Tap...
Tap...
The sound was coming from inside the gift box.
Barbie held her breath.
Whatever was inside...
..was moving.
Before she could react, her phone vibrated.
A new text message from an unknown number appeared.
"It's awake."
Barbie dropped the phone in shock.
The tapping suddenly stopped.
A few terrifying seconds passed.
Then...
The lid of the gift box slowly began to lift...
..all by itself.
Do you think Barbie should run, or stay and find out what's inside the box? Tell me in the comments.

THE MYSTERIOUS GIFT (Part 2)
Barbie's heart pounded so loudly she could barely hear herself think.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The person outside kept knocking with increasing urgency.
"Barbie! Please, don't open that box!" the voice shouted again.
She carefully placed the lid back on the gift without opening it. Her hands were trembling. Every instinct told her to stay inside, yet her curiosity pushed her toward the door.
She walked quietly through the living room and looked through the peephole.
No one.
The compound was empty.
The knocking had stopped.
Confused, she slowly unlocked the door and stepped outside.
The cool night breeze brushed against her face. The rain had stopped, leaving the ground wet and glistening under the streetlights.
"Hello?" she called.
Silence.
She searched around the compound, behind the flower pots, near the gate, and even outside the fence. There wasn't a single person in sight.
"Am I imagining things?" she whispered.
As she turned to go back inside, something white caught her attention.
A folded envelope lay on the welcome mat.
Her heart skipped a beat.
She picked it up carefully.
On the front, written in elegant handwriting, were just three words:
"Read Alone, Barbie."
She rushed back inside, locked every door and window, and opened the envelope.
Inside was another handwritten letter.
"If you're reading this, it means you're still alive. Good. That means you listened... at least for now.
The gift was never meant to reach you this early.
Someone made a mistake.
You think this is just a beautiful pink box, but what it contains has destroyed lives before yours.
Whatever you do, don't let anyone convince you to open it until you discover who sent it.
Trust no one.
Especially not the person who will visit you tomorrow at exactly 10:00 a.m.
They will smile.
They will call you by your childhood nickname.
And they will ask for the gift.
Do not give it to them."
Barbie read the letter twice.
Then a third time.

"It's probably just a surprise gift," she said.
Except...But she's not celebrating anything .
As evening approached, curiosity completely took over.
She carried the gift to her bedroom and locked the door behind her.
Her hands trembled as she untied the ribbon.
Just before lifting the lid...
Her phone rang.
An unknown number.
She hesitated before answering.
"Hello?"
A deep voice spoke slowly.
"Don't open that box."
Barbie froze.
Her heartbeat became louder than the rain outside.
"Who is this?" she asked.
The caller ignored the question.
"If you open it tonight... someone you love will disappear forever."
The call ended.
Barbie stood motionless, staring at the gift.
Was this a cruel joke?
Or was the stranger trying to save her?
She looked at the box...
Then at the phone...
Then back at the box.
After several minutes of silence, she whispered,
"I have to know what's inside."
With shaking hands, she reached for the lid.
Just as she began to lift it...
Someone started banging violently on her front door.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
A voice screamed from outside,
"BARBIE! DON'T OPEN IT!"
Barbie's entire body froze.
Who was at her door?
How did they know about the gift?
And what terrible secret was hidden inside that little pink box?
Do you think Barbie should open the gift or throw it away? Tell me your opinion in the comments...

THE MYSTERIOUS GIFT (Part 1)
Everyone believed Barbie had the perfect life.
Every morning, she woke up with a smile, dressed elegantly, took beautiful photos, and inspired people with kind words. To everyone watching from the outside, she looked like a young woman who had everything figured out.
But behind the smiles was a secret she had never told anyone.
She lived alone in a quiet neighborhood where nothing unusual ever happened. Her days were predictable—wake up, clean the house, prepare breakfast, work from home, and spend the evening reading or watching movies. Life was peaceful, almost too peaceful.
Until one rainy Tuesday morning.
As Barbie opened her front door to sweep the compound, something caught her attention.
A small pink gift box sat neatly on the doorstep.
She frowned.
"I wasn't expecting any delivery."
She looked around the street. There was no delivery rider, no neighbors, and no one walking past. The road was strangely quiet.
Slowly, she bent down and picked up the box.
It was surprisingly light.
Wrapped around it was a silky white ribbon, and attached to it was a tiny handwritten note.
Her heart skipped a beat as she unfolded the paper.
"Open this only when you're ready to know the truth."
Barbie read the sentence again.
And again.
"The truth about what?" she whispered.
There was no sender's name.
No phone number.
No address.
Nothing.
She carried the gift inside and placed it on the dining table. Every few minutes, her eyes wandered back to it. She tried watching television, but she couldn't concentrate. She made coffee, but it went cold before she drank it.
The mysterious box seemed to be calling her.
Who could have left it there?
A secret admirer?
A prankster?
Or someone from her past?
She remembered something her late grandmother used to tell her:
"Not every gift is a blessing. Some gifts carry answers you may not be ready to hear."
Barbie laughed nervously, trying to convince herself she was overthinking.
