Less screen time.

Sweden pushed printed books out before starting to buy them back.

Sweden went further into screens than almost anyone, down to tablets in nursery schools, and it was held up as the model everyone should copy.

Now the same government is reversing the rule that made digital devices mandatory in preschools.

It plans to end digital learning entirely for children under six, and to put printed books and handwriting back at the centre.

Partnership that works.
EDUSERVE was part of the Civil society action coalition on education for all (CSECAFA) national workshop with focus on Gender Responsive Padagogy.
A very engaging exercise aimed at improving inclusiveness and gender equity in learning environments in our basic schools.
A big thanks to the CSECAFA Country Advisor and Programme Manager for facilitating the workshop.
Big shout-out to Kenneth Amogu for coordinating the session.
Huge congratulations to Esther Gordons Nmaju for emerging as the new CSECAFA state coordinator for Imo state.

In continuation of our project 'More reading time; Less screen time: Re-awakening the reading culture among basic class learners' we visited Startwell Montessori Schools, Owerri to inaugurate the Onyx school reading club.
It was a very fulfilling experience with the enthusiasm shown by all the pupil club members. We thank the school proprietor Mrs. Roseline for the cooperation and partnership extended to EDUSERVE and CSECAFA and the commitment to ensure that the school will fully be part of the project and to get the cooperation of all stakeholders needed to make this happen.

On Wednesday July 15, we were at Adventist Model Academy Owerri to inaugurate the Onyx School reading club for the school. We thank the school management led by the HM, Mrs Ugonwanyi Harry and the club coordinator for their wonderful support and partnership. We acknowledge all the pupil club members for the enthusiasm shown.
The seed is being planted on very fertile minds. Great thanks to Joan Ugo Ihuoma for coordinating a very successful outing.

This is only the beginning, and we look forward to reaching many more schools across Imo State with this transformative initiative.
