WHERE ARROGANCE ENDS - EXCELLENCE BEGINS

This trending video shows a young boy shouting at his mother. The story behind it is even more striking. The mother was born in the United States but lived most of her adult life in Nigeria before returning to the US with her son. After just two years, this level of behaviour has emerged. It is a painful reminder that every child needs strong guidance, firm values, and a formation system that shapes character with consistency rather than convenience.

At ASTEC, we do more than teaching. We mould attitudes, refine behaviour, and build discipline that strengthens families instead of weakening them. We intentionally disarm arrogance, entitlement and misdirected confidence. We nurture respect, responsibility and emotional intelligence. In our environment, children learn to grow with honour, integrity and godly principles.

If you desire the best future for your child, think ASTEC. Whether your children are in Nigeria, the United States or anywhere in the world, ASTEC remains a trusted home for academic excellence and character formation.

Give your child the privilege of being trained in a school that brings out the very best in them.

IF NOT GOD
(Ma Ọ Bughi Ma Chi)

Life becomes truly clear when we pause long enough to examine the forces that have carried us to this point. Beyond talent and beyond effort lies a divine hand that has quietly ordered our steps. The honest testimony of every thoughtful mind remains the same: If not God. It is a recognition that greatness is never self-manufactured and that no human journey is sustained by strength alone.

Consider it carefully. Our progress did not emerge from personal brilliance, neither did our survival depend on mere strategy. Doors opened that we did not have the power to open. Opportunities came that we could not have created. Battles were won that we were not even aware of. Truly, if not God, our stories would read very differently today.

If not for God, many of us would never have trained our children. If not for God, we would not have finished school or earned the degrees we now celebrate. There are professors who are no more today. There are brilliant minds whose journeys were cut short. There are gifted people whose paths collapsed before they even began. If not God, none of us would have stood where we stand.

Therefore, pride has no place in the life of anyone who truly understands grace. No achievement should make us arrogant. No success should make us boastful. No accomplishment should make us forget the One who held our hands through dangers we did not even see. As David said, “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side… the waters would have overwhelmed us” (Psalm 124:1, 4).

Our stories are not written by brilliance alone. Our survival is not the product of our plans. Our progress is not the outcome of our power. Everything we are, and everything we have become, rests on the mercy and faithfulness of God.

Let every heart, every family, every student, every worker, and every leader speak boldly today: If not God, where would we be?

May gratitude fill our lips. May humility shape our steps. May God receive the glory now and always.

ASTEC and Parents - A Partnership that Drives Excellence

At Adventist Secondary Technical College, we recognize that true educational excellence thrives where strong partnerships are nurtured. Among the many forces that sustain our progress, the unwavering support and active engagement of our parents remain one of the most compelling. ASTEC is a school where the voices, insights and constructive observations of parents are not only welcomed but valued as essential contributions to our collective mission.

We believe education is most impactful when the home and the school walk hand in hand. This synergy shapes character, strengthens discipline, and enhances academic outcomes. Through open communication, collaborative planning and meaningful dialogue, our parents continue to enrich the decisions we make and the direction we take. Their participation in school programmes, feedback structures, academic reviews and moral support reinforce our commitment to raising students who are intellectually grounded, spiritually rooted and socially responsible.

At ASTEC, partnership is not a formality; it is a culture. It is a deliberate, dynamic relationship built on trust, respect and shared responsibility for the success of every learner. As we look ahead, we remain grateful for the steadfast involvement of our parents and reaffirm our dedication to sustaining this productive alliance. Together, we will continue to inspire excellence, model integrity and shape futures worthy of God’s purpose.

We move forward with confidence, strengthened by the partnership that continues to define and elevate ASTEC.

A Renewed Mandate of Service: Pastor A. C. Nwanma, PhD, Re-Elected Principal and Elevated to ENUC Associate Secretary

At the almost concluded 4th Quinquennial Constituency Session of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the delegates once again expressed their confidence in Pastor Ahaoma Chigozirim Nwanma, PhD. Having served with distinction as the Principal of the Adventist Secondary Technical College (ASTEC), Pastor Nwanma was re-elected to continue as Principal and additionally entrusted with the significant responsibility of serving as the Associate Secretary of the Eastern Nigeria Union Conference (ENUC). This expanded mandate reflects both his exemplary leadership at ASTEC and the high regard in which he is held within the wider administrative structure of the Church.

Over the years, Pastor Nwanma’s administration has been marked by deliberate governance, academic excellence, and a steadfast commitment to building an institution grounded in spiritual maturity and disciplined scholarship. We pray that his contributions to the Union will likewise demonstrate clarity of vision, organizational competence, and a sincere dedication to the mission of the Church.

Alongside his re-election, several other leaders were elected to serve in various capacities, forming a strengthened team prepared to guide the Union with renewed purpose throughout the next quinquennium.

As Pastor Nwanma embraces his continued and expanded responsibilities, we urge the entire ASTEC community to keep him and all newly elected officers, in earnest prayer. May God endow them with insight, resilience, and divine wisdom as they labour in His vineyard, and may their service yield enduring impact to God’s glory.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT!

The just-concluded Week of Spiritual Emphasis at ASTEC, held from October 19th to 25th, 2025, was nothing short of a divine encounter! The atmosphere throughout the week was charged with the presence of God, hearts were stirred, lives were changed, and the message of purpose rang loud and clear.

By the end of the program, 46 souls, made up of young adults and staff, made the life-transforming decision to surrender completely to God. It was a sight of pure joy and deep conviction as heaven rejoiced over each soul.

Indeed, this was more than just another spiritual exercise, it was a revival. God visited His people, and His Spirit moved mightily among us.

To Him alone be all the glory!

Adventist Youth Ministry at ASTEC

At Adventist Secondary Technical College (ASTEC), the Adventist Youth Ministry (AYM) is not just a program, it is a lifestyle that integrates faith with learning. Every Friday and on special youth days, both students and staff proudly wear their youth uniforms, a visible reminder of unity, service, and commitment to God.

Through AYM, our students are equipped with more than academic knowledge. They gain life survival skills, engage in progressive classes, and are trained for leadership, service, and personal growth. It is a platform where values are nurtured, talents are developed, and character is refined, preparing them not only for successful careers but also for meaningful lives of service to God and humanity.

At ASTEC, AYM is more than a department, it is part of our identity. It continues to be one of the most impactful ways we integrate faith and learning.
