3. Reflexes Pronouns : They are used to replace a noun phrase usually within the same clause. They have the ending " self" in their singular forms and the ending :selves in their plural forms.
Examples :
The prisoner hanged himself ( himself refers to the prisoner)
Maiden often talk to themselves ( " themselves" refers to maiden)
4. Reciprocal pronouns: There are the pronouns when the action express by the verb is shared by those concerned . e.g.
John and Sunday like each other.( The liking is shared by both)
The players congratulated one another on their victory ( All the players are involved in the act of congratulating).
5. Demonstrative pronouns: These pronouns point out specific persons , places, or things.
They have singular and plural forms as shown in the following table.

While " this" and " these" point object that are near.
" that" and " those" point to objects that are comparatively distance. e.g.
This is my book.
Those are my book.
That is your book.
Those are your books.
6. Interrogative pronouns: are used in asking questions.
These pronoun are:
Who. Whom Whose
What. Which. Where
When. how
Examples:
Who is the captain of the class
( "Who" is the subject of the sentence)
7. Relative pronouns :include who, which, that, whose. These are used to connect clauses in a sentences they are used to introduce relative clauses
Example:
The woman that l saw is beautiful.
8. Indefinite pronouns: They are not specific or definite.
Examples:
Any, some, anybody, somebody, everybody, nobody, anyone , someone, everyone, anything, something, everything, nothing.
TYPES OF PRONOUNS.
1. Personal pronouns : These refer to the person speaking ( first person) the person spoken to ( second person) and the the person or thing spoken about ( third person).
Personal pronoun have singular and plural forms ad well as subject and object forms

Definition Of Pronoun
The pronoun is a word used in place of a noun. Pronoun are employed mainly to avoid the repetition of noun.
The following sentences sound odd because some of the nouns have been repeated.
Ade came to my house yesterday , when Ade left , Ade branched at the market, when Ade left the market, Ade finally left for home.
The above sentence is correct but monotonous in nature , because of repetition of Ade, for this reason , pronoun was introduced instead we should prefer this Ade came to my house yesterday , when he left, He branched at the market when he left, later went home.

FUNCTIONS OF NOUNS.
The noun functions as subject, object or compliment in a sentence.
1 Subject in a sentence.
Example:
Olu is a lawyer
( the verb is 'is')
'Ade did perform a surgical operation today ( the verb is ' did perform')
ij. Object of a verb.
Example:
The dog ate the beans
( the verb is ' ate' beans is the object )
iii Compliment of Subject
Ngozi and Mercy are students
( The subject is Ngozi and Mercy).
The books are treasures
( the subject is ' books').
iv. Complement of Object
Examples:
The class appointed Obioma prefect
( The object is 'Obioma')
They called the man thieves
( The object is the 'man' )
v. Compliment of a Prepositions
Examples:
We brought the Parcel from Okoro.
( The preposition is' from')
The man lives in Agege
( The man prepositions is ' in')
However , in the second sentence, the collective noun is
regarded as plural and takes the plural verb ' have' , Again while the collective noun takes the singular pronoun 'it' when used as singular,.it requires the plural pronoun 'they,' when used as plural .
Examples of collective nouns:
class, committee, community , crowd, family, flock, gang, government, group, jury, legislative , the clergy, the public, the elite, the united nations, the united states.
Concrete Nouns: are things that can be seen or touched e. g. table, ruler, house, bag. e.t.c.
Uncountable Common Nouns : are those that cannot be counted and they therefore have
only the singular form.
Examples:
Sand, rice, water, music anger, education, progress.
Two other groups of common nouns which are themselves members of the countable or uncountable noun groups can be identified. These are Abstract Nouns and Collective Nouns.
Abstract Nouns: relate to ideas as opposed to concrete objects. They are both countable and uncountable.
Countable: ideas, skill, concept, remark, admission.
Uncountable: anger, happiness, education, wisdom.
Collective Nouns: are names of groups of people or things . They are treated as singular or plural nouns depending on whether the group is conceived as a single entity or as being made up of several members.
For example: the use of the collective noun family in the following sentences
The family has a house in
town where it lives
The family have a house in
town where they live
In the first sentence , the collective noun is regarded as singular and the singular verb 'has'.
