Understanding Your Status

🟢 Green Status:
Your qualification has been verified and cleared by your institution. Your certificate is ready to be used for the 2026 Direct Entry admission process.

🔴 Red Status:
Your qualification has not yet been verified or cleared by your institution. This means your verification is still pending.

What Should You Do If Your Status Is Red?

If your certificate has not been verified, visit the institution that issued your qualification as soon as possible and follow up on the verification process. Early action will help prevent delays in your admission processing.

LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY [LASU] RELEASES PRE-DEGREE STUDIES ADMISSION FORM FOR THE 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The Lagos State University (LASU) has officially commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programme is designed for candidates who wish to strengthen their academic qualifications, remedy deficiencies in their O’Level results, and improve their chances of gaining admission into LASU through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

About the LASU Pre-Degree Programme

The LASU Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme is a one-year intensive academic programme scheduled to run from October 2026 to September 2027.

It is specifically structured to:

Prepare candidates for the UTME.
Help candidates address deficiencies in their WAEC, NECO, or GCE O’Level results.
Enhance students’ chances of securing admission into 100-level degree programmes at LASU.
The programme will be held at the Lagos State University, Epe Campus, and all admitted students are required to reside in the university hostel throughout the programme.

Why Choose LASU Pre-Degree?

Candidates who apply through the regular UTME admission process often face intense competition for limited admission spaces. However, successful Pre-Degree students who meet the transition requirements are considered under the university’s Pre-Degree admission quota, giving them an added advantage in gaining admission into LASU.

The university also noted that despite the generally low performance recorded in the 2026 UTME, students enrolled in the Pre-Degree programme performed exceptionally well. The Lagos State University (LASU), through its School of Basic and Advanced Studies (LASUSBAS), has officially commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The one-year intensive programme is designed for qualified candidates seeking direct admission into 200 Level degree programmes at Lagos State University and other JUPEB-affiliated universities across Nigeria. The programme is scheduled to run from September 2026 to August 2027 and will be held at the LASUSBAS Campus, ASCON Road, Topo, Badagry, Lagos State.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must possess:

A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
Candidates must be ready to participate in the LASUSBAS qualifying examination.
Applicants invited for the examination are required to present:

National Identification Number (NIN) Slip
Birth Certificate
O’Level Result
One recent passport photograph
The names on the NIN Slip, Birth Certificate, and O’Level Result must be identical.
Awaiting results are not accepted.
Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of ₦30,000.



Transition to 200 Level
At the end of the programme, students will sit for the JUPEB examination. Candidates who successfully complete the programme will be eligible for admission into 200 Level, subject to meeting the University’s requirements.

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially released its Inter-University Transfer Application for the 2026/2027 Academic Session, inviting eligible students from recognized Nigerian universities to apply for transfer into the institution.

According to a memo issued by the Senior Deputy Registrar, Senate and Admissions, Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, the application exercise will commence on Monday, July 13, 2026.
