The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) must prioritize managerial stability for the Super Eagles. Following Austin Eguaveon's two games as interim manager and Technical Director, yielding decent results in the qualifiers, the NFF should halt its search for a foreign coach. The team's return in October under a new coaching crew could be complicated. Discussions regarding Eguaveon's permanent position should be postponed until after the AFCON qualifiers in November, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation after six games. His current role with the NFF makes for a convenient arrangement as interim coach until November. Post-November, the NFF can reassess, with a three-month window before the next games in 2025. If Eguaveon is appointed permanently, he must relinquish his Technical Director role to ensure accountability. If a foreign coach is desired, there will be sufficient time to prepare for the World Cup qualifiers in March 2025, necessitating a prompt decision after the November games to allow the new manager adequate preparation time for the World Cup qualifiers preceding AFCON in December 2025.
