ERI 2024 DAY 4
LESSON FOURHOW TO PREPARED A TABLE FOR HIS COMING. PSALM 23:5
We are saved by Hope and Hope will not make us ashamed because it is well grounded. It is the duty of Christians to encourage themselves in the LORD, their God as we are here directed to take that encouragement both from the relation wherein He stands to us and from the experience we have had of his goodness according to that relation.
Table the earliest scriptural mention (Jud.1:7; 2 Sam.9:7; I King2:7; 4:27, 10:5, 18:19. C.P I Kg.13:20). Table generally sat on short legs, allowing one to oat sitting or reclined on a rug (Isa.21:5, Jud.1:7) Table also for meet the kings to rummage underneath C.P.Mk.7:28.
In the New Testament time guest ate while reclining on couches, supporting their heads with their left hands and eating from a common bowl with their right. This practice explains a woman’s standing at Jesus feet (Lk.7:38) and the beloved disciple’s position at Jesus breast (Jh.13:23) during meals.
RITUAL TABLES. A table for the bread of the presence formed part of the furnishings for both the Tabernacle Exo.25:23-30; 26:35; Lev.24:5-7) and Temple (I king 7:48). Another table were used in sacrificial cult (I Chro.28:14-16; 2 Chro.4:7; Ezek. 40:38-43; Malach.1:7, 12), dec=scribes the altar itself as a table. To share in a god’s table was an act of worship (Isa.65:11; and I Cor. 10:2) refers to idolatries worship. In the content of our discussion, I will discuss The LORD Table (I Cor.10:21; Exo.29:45; I Cor.3:16 refers to the observance of the LORD Supper.
Other forms of Table include: Money. Table: The money chargers’ table were small trays on stands Matt.21:12; Mk.11:15; John 2:15. The Table of Law (Exo.24:12, 31:18; Dt.9:9).
PREPARING A TABLE FOR THE KING OF GLORY
In setting up a table for a guest, the preparation depends on the nature, attributes, post held and relevance’s of the guest. Not all your guest can be kept in just any table this would amount to dishonouring of such people and such guest may not be pleased with you.
Now our guest here, is the King of Glory seeking permission to visit us, come into His abode, dine and wine with us. A table prepared for such the only most cherishable, most high, most excellent, most benefitting august visitor needs to be prepared in a special way. The best of the best materials would be used in beautifying the venue. For His majesty is in comparable and incompatible to none. There is no language or words to express or explain this glorious experience of partaking in His glory.Psalmist was highly excited when He caught up the vision of the LORD’S Glory, that is the weight importance and shinning majesty that accompany God’s presence is so awesome. The word Glory comes from the Hebrew word KAVOD meaning Heavy in weight. (I Sam. 4:21-22, 27:3; Isa.17:3; Prov.4:8). This is so much something someone bestows on another as a quality of importance that a person, group or nation has and which another recognizes. To give glory is to praise, to recognise the importance of another, the weight the other comes in the community. In the psalms people gave such glory to God. They recognised the essential nature of His “goodness” that gives Him importance and weight in relationship to the human worshipping community (Ps.22:23; 86:12) At times God creates glory for Himself (Exo.14:17:17; Ezek28:22). God reveals His glory in His just dealings with humans. He also reveals it in the storms and events of nature (Ps.29 C.P. Isa. 6) Glory is that side of God which humans recognizes and to which humans respond in confession, worship and praise (C.P Isa. 58.8, 60:1). The greatest revelation of divine glory in the Old Testament came on Mount Sinai (Dt.5:24; Exo.19:19l Jud.13:22; Dt. 4:33) such experiences are awesome and fearful (Dt.5:25) although such revelation does not reveal all of God (Exo.33:17-23) in the New Testament DOXA was used to express glory and limit the meaning to God’s glory. In classical Greek doxa means, opinion, conjecture, expectation and then praise. It illustrates divine power and majesty (Acts.7:2; 2Pet.1:17). The New Testament extends this to Christ as having divine Glory (Lk.9:32; Jh.1:14; ICor.2:8; 2 Thess. 2:14).
Divine Glory means that Humans do not seek glory for themselves (Matt.6:2; Jh.5:44; IThess.2:16). They only look to receive praise and honour from Christ (Rom.2:7; 5:2; IThess.2:19; Ph.2:16).
The Table in this content means your HEARTS, that need to be set on the LORD always, your mind set setting on Christ at the expense of the world system (Ps.49:8). A steadfast heart God desire from you (Ps.51:10,62:1,5,63:8)
A prayer to have an heart to know God always is another way of preparing oneself for the King of Glory to comes in (Jer.24:7; Acts.10, Dt.30:6; Jer.30:22; Ezek.11:20; Jer.29:13). Your salvation begins from your heart (ROM.10:9-11). Serving God in with a pure heart is the most reasonable and acceptable ways to God (2Cor.4:7; ITim.2:22; I Tim.1:5). We must know the convectional ways of serving God (Dt.6:20; Exo.13:14)
A life of total separation to God is much needed, as the Temple of the Living God, don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with unbeliever? And what union can there be between God’s Temple and idols? For we are the Temple of the Living God. As God said, I will be their God and they will be my people.
Therefore, come out from and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their things and I will welcome you. And I will be your Father and you will e my sons and daughters says the LORD ALMIGHTY (2 Cor. 14:6-14).
The King of kings, Immortal, Invisible, Eternal, the King of Glory will come and reside with the Table that are ready for Him (I Tim. 1:17; Ps.10:16; Rom.1:23; 16:27; John1:18; IChro.29:11).

DAY 3
LESSON 3
ASCENDING INTO THE HILLS OF GOD, WHAT IT TAKES PS.24:3-4
Who Shall go into the heaven Here after as an earnest of that shall have communion with God in Holy ordinances now? A soul that knows and consider His own nature, origin and immortality, when He has viewed the death and the fulness thereof, will sit down unsatisfied, there is not found among all the creatures a help meet for man and therefore it will think of ascending towards God and towards heaven, will ask, what shall I do to rise to that high place, that Hills where the Lord dwells and manifests Himself, that I may be acquitted with Him and to abide in that happy holy place where He meet His people and make them Holy and happy? What shall I do that I may be of those whom God owns for His peculiar people and who are His in another manner than the earth is His fulness? (Ps.15:1) The Hill of Zion on which the Temple was beautified the church both visible and invisible. When the people attended the Ark to His Holy place. David put them in mind that this were but patterns of heavenly things and by them. They should be led to considered the heavenly things themselves. (Col.3:1-2; Rom.6:5; 8:34).
WHAT IT TAKES TO ASCEND INTO THE HIIL OF THE LORD The people that will fellowship with God in grace and glory. Are such that keep themselves from all the gross of sin. They have clean hands, not spotted with the pollutions of the world and the flesh. None that were ceremonially uncleaned might enter into the mountain of the temple, which signified that cleanliness of conversation which is required in all those that have fellowship with God (Job 17:9; So sol:2:6).the hands no blot of unjust gain clearing to them, nor anything else that defiles the man and is offensive to the Holy God. (Lev.11:43-45; Exo.19:6; Lev. 19:2; 20:7, 27; I Thess.4:7; I Pet.1:15&16). They are such that makes conscience of being really (that is, of being inwardly) as good as they seem to be outward. They have pure hearts (Acts 23:1, 24:16; Rom.13:5; I Cor.10:28; 2Cor. 1:12; 2Tim.1:3; Heb.9:14, 13:8). We make nothing of our religion, if we do not make heart work of it. It is not enough that our hands be cleaned before men, but we must also wash our heart from wickedness and allow ourselves in any secret heart-impurities, which are opened before the eyes of God in vain do those pretend to have pure and good hearts whose hands are defiled with the acts of sin. There is need for a heart which is sincere and genuine in covenanting with God, which is carefully guided, that the wicked one, the unclean spirit touches it not which is purified by faith and be confirm to the images and will of God. (Matt.3:8; Ps.15:2; I Cor.13:12; I Jh.3:2&3). The habitable part of this earth Prov.8:31 is his in a special manner the world and those that dwell therein. They are such people that set their affections upon on the things of this world. They are such that deal honestly both God and man in their covenant with God and their contract with men, they have not worn deceitfully, nor broken their promises, violated their engagement or taken any false oaths. Those that have no regards to the obligations of truth or the honour of God’s Name are unfit for the Holy place in God’s Holy Hills. They are praying people. This is the generation of the people that seek Him. In every age there is a remnant of such as men of good character who are accounted to the LORD for a generation (Ps.22:3, 86:7). They join themselves to God, to seek Him, not only in earnest prayer, but in serious endeavours to obtain His factor and keep themselves in His love. Having make it the source of their happiness, they make it a point of duty so that they can be acceptable to Him.
LESSON 2
“THE EVERLASTING DOOR”
Door: Opening for entering a house, tent or room. Five Hebrew words, one Geek term translated doors in the English Bible. Petach refers to the doorway, to the actual opening itself. Delete alludes to the door proper, usually made of wood sheeted with metals, though a slab of stones could be used. The Greek term Thura is used for both of these Hebrew words. “Door” is often used in a figurative sense in the Bible. In the OT Sin is crouching at the door (Gen. 4:7) means sin is very near. In the New Testament Jesus call Himself “the door” (Joh. 10;7, 9; 14;6), Apostle Paul said, for through Him we both have access by one spirit unto the father (Eph. 2;18; 1Con. 12:13). Faith in Him is the only way to enter into the kingdom of God. God gave to the Gentiles “the door of faith” or an opportunity to know Him as LORD {Acts.14:27; 15:4; 12; 1 Con. 16:9] Jesus Christ is the only acceptable, approved of God for any repenting sinners to receive salvation. He became the everlasting door because, He is the way, the truth and the life and no man come to the father except through Him (Jh.14:6, Heb.9:8, Jh.1:17; 10:9; 14). The gate like a door sets a boundary between that which is outside.
Those who reside inside a household compound were member of that household, family members workers attached to the family unit, servants or guests. All within the gate were treated as part of the family. They were included under the sabbath rest commandment (Exo. 20:9-10). as a participant in major festivals (Dt. 16:11,14). Guests were to be offered the same protection as family members (Gen. 19 {Jud. 19}. Likewise, those within the gate of the city were to be offered the same protection as citizen the application of this is that those who have already saved by Jesus, whose sins were cleansed were acceptable into the kingdom. The Bible has several figurative or symbolic allusions to gates. Jacob after his dream at Bethel, described the place as the house of God (Gen.28:17).
The everlasting door contain the everlasting life or life Eternal John the beloved Apostle says. In him was life and life was the light of men (Jhn.1:4; 5:26; 8:12). So Christ Jesus was not over emphasising issue when He said unto them again, verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the ------------By me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out and find pasture (Jhn.10:7&9;14:6; Eph.2:18). had life and that had not the son of God had not life (1Jhn.5:11-12; Jh3:36) Believe in the divine provision of God for salvation, that is in the name of Jesus the son of God and the king of Glory shall come into beautify your life. The true God and Eternal life shall give to your soul.

LESSON ONE
WHO IS THE KING OF GLORY?
What is spoken once, entrance once and again demanded for the king of glory, the doors and gates are to be thrown open, thrown wide open, to give him admission, for behold he stands at the door and knocks, ready to come in (Ps.24:7-10; Rev.3:20, S.Sol.5:2). When He comes into make His abide with whosoever that grant him entrance (John 14:23). They equally dine and wine with Him (Luke 12:37).
Enquiry once again made concerning this mighty prince, in whose name entrance is demanded: who is the King of Glory? As; when any knock at our door, it is common to ask, who is there? Satisfaction once and again given concerning the royal person that makes the demand. It is the LORD, strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the Lord of Hosts. This splendid or glorious entry here described it is probably refers to the solemn bringing in of the ARK into the Tent David pitched for it or the Temple Solomon built for it, for when David prepared materials for the building of it. It was proper for him to prepared a psalm for it dedication. The porters are called to open the doors and they are called everlasting doors, because it is much more durable that the door of the Tabernacle which was but a curtain.
They are taught to ask who is the king of Glory? And those that bore the ark are taught to answer. In the language before us and very fitly, because the Ark was a symbol or token of God’s presence (Jos. 3:11,13; Zech.4:14) God in His word and ordinance is to be welcomed by us. With great readiness, the doors and gates must be thrown open to Him. Let the word of God come to the innermost and uppermost place in our souls and, if we had 1000 necks, we should bow them all to the authority of it with all reference remembering how great a God be is with whom we have to do in all our approaches to Him.
The question, points to Christ Jesus of whom the ARK with the mercy seat was a type we may apply it to the ascension of Christ into heaven and the welcome given to Him there when He has finished His work on earth, He ascended in the clouds of heaven (Acts 2:9-12, Dan. 7:13-14). The gates of heaven must be opened to him, those door that may be truly called everlasting which had been shut against us to keep the way of the tree of life (Gen.3:24) our Redeemer found them shut but having by His blood made atonement for sin and gained a little to enter into the Holy place (Heb.9:12; 10:4-10, Acts 20:28; Zech.3:9; Dan.9:24).
As one having authority, he demanded entrance not for himself only. But for us for as the forerunner, he has for us entered and opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers. The kingdom of heaven to all believers. The keys not only of Hell and death, but of heaven and life must be put into his hand. His approach being very magnificent, the angels are brought in asking, who is this King of Glory? For angels keep the gates of the new Jerusalem (Rev.21:12; C.P Eze.48:31&34) When the first beggon (Jesus Christ was brought to the upper world the angels were to worship Him (Heb.1:6; Rom.8:29; Col.1:18; Rev.1:5; Dt.32:43) and accordingly, they were asked with wonder. Who is he? this that come with dyed garments from 1302 rab? (Isa. 63:1-3; Rev 19:13). For He appears in that world as a Lamb that had been slain. It is answered that He is strong and mighty in battle, to save is people and subdue his and their enemies. We may apply it to Christ entrance into the souls of men by His word and Spirit, that they may be His Temples. Christ presence in them is like that of the Ark in the temple it sacrifices Them Behold, He stands at the door and knocks (Rev.3:20).
It requires that the gates and doors of the heart be opened to Him, not only admission is delivered to the rightful owner after the Title has been contested. This is the gospel call and demand, that we Let Jesus Christ, the king of the glory come into our soul and welcome Him with Hosannas blessed is He that come. That we may do this aright we are concerned to ask. Who is the king of glory? To acquaint ourselves with Him. Who we are to believe in and to love above all and the answer is ready? He is the Jehovah and will be Jehovah our righteousness, an all-sufficient saviour to us. If we give him entrance and entertainment. He is strong and mighty and the Lord of Host, therefore, it is our peril if we deny Him entrance for, He is able to avenge the affront He can force His way and break those in pieces with His iron rod that will not submit to His golden sceptre.
