UNIOSUN Alumni Inducts 2026 Graduands, Equips Them for Careers, Opportunities and Impact

The Osun State University Alumni Association (OSUAA) has formally inducted the 2026 graduating set into the global alumni family, with a call on the new graduates to look beyond their degrees and position themselves for careers, opportunities, continuous learning and meaningful impact.
The Alumni Induction and Orientation Programme, held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the 500-seater capacity hall, Main Campus, Osogbo, was organised under the theme “Beyond the Degree: Positioning for Careers, Opportunities and Impact.” In partnership with Jobberman, the programme brought together over 1,000 graduands for practical sessions on employability, digital skills, artificial intelligence, personal branding, entrepreneurship, job search strategies and workplace expectations.
Speaking at the programme, the Global President of the Association, Comr. Abubakar Abdulbasit Olalekan, congratulated the graduands and urged them to see their degrees as a foundation for further growth. He encouraged them to embrace continuous learning, remain adaptable, build professional networks, uphold strong ethical values and remain purposeful. He also called on the new alumni to cultivate a culture of giving back, while highlighting the Association’s interventions, including scholarship support, career development initiatives and programmes aimed at strengthening the relationship between the University and its alumni.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Research, Innovation and Partnerships, Professor Adetunji Lawrence Kehinde, congratulated the graduands and urged them to see their degrees as a foundation for continuous learning, adaptability and meaningful impact. He stressed that their conduct after graduation would reflect on their alma mater.
The Jobberman facilitators equipped the graduands with practical employability skills, covering Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), CV preparation, job applications, interviews and salary negotiation. They stressed the importance of tailoring CVs to specific opportunities and considering experience alongside immediate financial returns, particularly at the early stages of a career. Participants received certificates for the training.
The programme also featured a panel session involving Azeez Makinde, CEO, Naijaloaded Entertainment; Ebunoluwa Adeleye, International Officer, Africa, Leeds Beckett University, UK; Abdulwahab Gbadamosi, Chartered Accountant and Manager; Kareemat Adebanke Akanbi, Business and Personal Branding Consultant; and Abraham Ogunmola O., Growth Marketing and Digital Strategy Professional. The panellists shared practical insights on career development, international opportunities, personal branding, professional growth, digital strategy and entrepreneurship.

Olayiwola, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Development); Mrs. Atinuke Abosede Oguntunde, Registrar; Dr. Olugbenga Wale Adewuyi, University Librarian; Associate Professor Mutahir O. Abanikkannda, Ag. Director, Academic Planning; Dr. Funmilayo Oloyede, Dean, Division of Student Affairs; Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association, Rev. Dr. Joshua Ayorinde; Prince Adekeye Shetima Ademola, President, Fountain University Alumni Association; former President of the Association, Engr. Oriola Kabir Oladipo; former BOT Chairman, Engr. Adebisi Aderanti; Engr. Jacob Opatade; SSA to the Governor of Osun, Mr. Kunike Akinrinade; Engr. Aiyesanmi Owolabi; Mr. Seyi Nation; Chef Sherif Osas, alongside other alumni leaders, professionals and stakeholders.
The induction marked the beginning of the graduands’ formal relationship with the Alumni Association and reinforced OSUAA’s commitment to keeping its graduates connected to their alma mater while supporting their professional development and capacity to make meaningful contributions to society.
