We had our third inter-house sports last weekend. The event was filled with fun.
The spirit of sportsmanship was exhibited by our students
The importance of sports cannot be over-emphasized. Outside the discipline and academic brilliance that sports promote, they provide an opportunity for people to come closer to one another, to form bonds, friendships, etc. I would like to share with you a quote from Jesse Owens, the legendary Black American athlete who won four gold medals in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany. “Friendships born on the field of athletic strife are the real gold of competition. Awards become corroded, friends gather no dust”.
