When you speak or write, there's that knowledge of how a language works you employ in your speech. Many persons acquire this by imitation; some, deliberately.

Grammar is vital in every sentence you read or write, speak or hear. You want to be coherent and understood, don't you?

If anything worth doing at all is worth doing well, why not speak well if you can? No, it isn't so difficult. Just think of it a bit more. You can!

Funny how growing up in this part of the world, we have erroneously attributed grammar to high sounding vocabulary. Grammar is simply that set of rules, better put, guidelines you follow for using a language.

Two, it prepares you for any and every audience – average, proficient, and native. Where would you rather be placed? Would you rather be average or proficient?

Communication forms the fabric of our functionality & existence as humans. It would require more than a sprinkle of consciousness to be effective and successful speakers.

However, you should remember this: the first way to be successful at anything is to START. Just start talking. Share that idea, pick up that IV, attend that meeting, meet with people, talk about the weather or anything that interests you. Just start and don't worry about the mistakes.
