Today my Year 3 girl did her maths test 😊

When she saw her score 80%, her face just lit up like a bulb 😂 She was like, I did it! and started smiling shyly. Not even shouting, just that quiet proud smile.

I asked her, Are you happy?
She said, Yes… I tried.

That “I tried” part hit different. Because you can actually see the effort she put in before today.
Before we ended, she said, Next time I will get more!😄

Me: “Okay, what is ‘water’ in Igbo?”
Learner thinking hard…
“Hmmmm… Maaa… is it mmiri or mini?”
I said, “If you say mini again, I’ll start selling bottled water in class!” 😭😂
Two minutes later…
Learner shouting confidently:
“MMIRI! I GOT IT!”
Me smiling like proud auntie at family meeting 🥹
Then I asked, “How do you greet in the afternoon?”
Learner: “Good afternoon… in Igbo?”
Me: “Yes now.”
Learner whispers slowly:
“Eh… Eh… Ehihie ọma?”
Me: “Yessss! Somebody give this child Igbo citizenship!” 🇳🇬😂
