Welcome to the Official page of the University of Medical Sciences(UNIMED), Òndó; the First (and the Best) Specialized Medical University in Nigeria and 3rd in Africa. University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (abbreviated UNIMED) is sited in Ondo city in Ondo State to address the immediate training, research and service delivery needs of Ondo State and its environs in all aspects of health care. However, right from the onset the institution will be designed as a world-class institution that would focus on addressing the human resource and health care needs of all Nigerian States as well as the entire West and Central African regions. These regions being characterized by high endemicity of infectious and non-communicable diseases, and with the deficit of quality human resource to confront these health challenges, it is only appropriate that a Centre of excellence in training, research and service delivery in the health sciences would evolve to confront the related health problems. Thus, UNIMED is being developed to evolve as a central hub of medical education, training, research and service delivery for the whole of West and Central Africa and indeed, the entire African region.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: 2026/2027 UNIMED POST-UTME FOR DIRECT ENTRY APPLICANTS AND OTHERS

This is to inform all concerned candidates that the 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise for Direct Entry applicants will hold on Wednesday, 19th August 2026.

Candidates who recently applied for the Post-UTME and those who missed the examination conducted between 3rd and 7th August 2026 due to technical glitches or other valid reasons are hereby advised to present themselves for the examination on 19th August 2026.

Please note that this will be the final opportunity for candidates to sit for the 2026/2027 UNIMED Post-UTME.

All concerned candidates are therefore advised to take note and ensure their participation.

Today, we celebrate not only the remarkable longevity of an accomplished pharmacist, statesman, and visionary leader, but also a life devoted to selfless service, nation-building, and the advancement of education and healthcare in Nigeria.

As a former Minister of Health and Social Services, Chairman of Juli Pharmacy, Chairman of the MTN Foundation, and currently Chairman of the Olu Akinkugbe Pharmacy Education Trust (OAPET), you have consistently exemplified excellence, integrity, and purposeful leadership. Your distinguished career has left enduring footprints across the pharmaceutical profession, public service, and corporate governance.

NIEPA Visits UNIMED to Strengthen Institutional Collaboration.

The management of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), Ondo, paid a courtesy visit to the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, on Monday, July 13, 2026, to strengthen the longstanding partnership between both institutions and formally familiarize with the new Vice Chancellor, Professor Ebun Aderonke Adejuyigbe.

Welcoming the delegation, Professor Adejuyigbe described the visit as timely, noting that sustained collaboration would enhance capacity building, improve teaching quality, and bridge knowledge gaps within the University. She appreciated NIEPA for its support over the years and expressed optimism for deeper institutional cooperation.

Director-General of NIEPA, Dr. David Shofoyeke, recalled the cordial relationship between both institutions, highlighting shared access to hostel, clinic, library, transportation, and recreational facilities. He reaffirmed NIEPA’s commitment to expanding collaboration through staff capacity building and shared facilities.
