NIGERIAN YOUTHS BE WISE:
wisdom is an applied knowledge, but the Nigerian youths seem to be ignorant of this noble fact.
Today in Nigeria, all of us have been turned into serious dilemma by the ruling class, yet we smile over this danger. It portends danger because some one some where is toiling with people's destiny with those people not minding the consequences of their silence.
Today in Nigeria, the big names are the governors, senators and all the public office holders. What really makes their names big? Our common wealth of course!
One can't peruse through one national daily without seeing comments and deceptive words being oozed out by these deceivers of our youths, yet we still hail and discuss them and their ill-gotten wealth. The one that itches me most is hearing the death of an innocent but unguided youth all in the bid to protect the interest of a politician whose children are not even domiciled here in Nigeria. Such death does not attract my pity! Just last two weeks I was reading through the page of Nasir El'Rufai (former minister of FCT), you would be marveled at what I saw: he was proud to display the picture of his daughter who graduated oversees. Unfortunately, El'Rufai is one of those making inflammatory and violent oriented statements capable of plunging the nation into civil unrest. Why wouldn't he, knowing his children are not here. Why then should I die for a class trying to privatize virtually every state enterprise because perhaps, he is from my enclave.
I only have this war against the ruling class: "let the ruling class tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries, unite! (Karl Marx)
Nigerian youths be reminded that our hopelessness is a force; our numerical strength is an advantage; our energy is a leverage; our pains, a compelling force; our destiny, our reason and our class, our unity. The above factors should separate you from confusion and prepare you to question your environment (polity). I have associated with youths who are unwilling to change the trend of things in Nigeria; rather they are after their chauvinistic interest. God, always separate me from such myopic touts!
It is no longer time to sermonize the harsh effect of capitalism without any plan for parliatives to cushion or mitigate the ugly situation it occasions. We must question some political gimmicks of the two major political parties in Nigeria (PDP and APC). Enough of this insults targeted at our youths; enough of these gallery display...
I now ask: what is causing uneven distribution of national resources? What is causes unemployment in Nigeria? Where are we moving from here fellow youths?
Unemployment? What makes Ajaokuta steel industry not to function up till this moment? It can employ more than ten thousand youths. But if it works, how again will the ruling class embezzle from the national treasury?
It might surprise you that all the existing refineries since Nigeria came into existence were built by the military. What then is wrong with Nigeria? Corruption is the HIV that has defiled all medications and our national health is in jeopardy!
Ekiti election is ongoing and many of our youths are dead just because somebody wants to be in charge of state enterprise (government).
Shame to all of us by the fact that we can't read the hand writing on the wall: politicians are mocking us, we must be wise and at alert. As Deodora (1999) captures it, "In searching for truth, we must be prepared to challenge authority; be skeptical of common sense; suspect intuition and question the premises of logical argument". We have not employed the above weapon, hence we are under serious imbroglio and quagmire.
Know it today that without "Revolutionary theory, there won't be Revolutionary movement". This isn't to entertain you but rather, to appeal to conscience and emotions on the urgent need to question these seeming abnormalities
