The State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Samuel Egube, disclosed this during the State Budget appropriation analysis held in Alausa, explaining that the sum of ₦173.526 billion, being 10 per cent of the ₦1.758 trillion of the State’s Y2022 Budget of Consolidation, is allocated to education with ₦112.670 billion as recurrent expenditure while the capital expenditure for the sector stands at ₦60.855 billion.
According to him, the budget will take care of Primary and Secondary Schools, Technical Colleges, Lagos State University as well as the upgraded Colleges of Education and the State Polytechnic to Universities.
He averred that the State Health sector will also receive a boost this year as the sector has been apportioned seven per cent of the budget with the sum of ₦127.348 billion comprising a recurrent expenditure of ₦38.877 billion and capital expenditure of ₦88.471 billion.
Speaking on the Y2021 performance of the State Budget, he recapped that the revised budget of ₦1.257trn had total revenue of ₦984.573bn and deficit financing of ₦271.994bn with the Capital to Recurrent Ratio being 59:41 (i.e Capital Expenditure of ₦743.224bn and a Recurrent Expenditure of ₦513.343bn).
He revealed that by November 30, 2021, the budget posted a performance of 73% with revenue being 75%, while the capital and recurrent expenditure stood at 65% and 83% respectively.
Egube added that the present administration will focus more on the completion of ongoing General Hospitals across the State, the Mother and Child Health Centres (MCCs) as well as the provision of more amenities while research in the health sector remains a top priority to the government.
He stated further that the Consolidation Budget, which is the second full budget of the present administration, will see to the completion of most ongoing projects across the State, noting that the State government will also ensure the reconstruction and completion of some road intersections to ease vehicular movement and improve the economy.
Egube said some of the projects to be focused on for completion include the construction of Eleko-Epe T-junction Road, Agric-Isawo-Arepo Road in Ikorodu, Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Igbe road, Ikorodu, Ogolonto-Ebute Ipakodo (Oba Sekumade) Road in Ikorodu and the flyover at Ikeja, stressing that many more roads in Badagry and Lagos Divisions, as well as other new road projects, will be embarked upon to open up more areas in the State.
He averred that the continuous road maintenance by the Public Works Bureau will be improved to ease vehicular movement, adding that more drainages will be worked on to avoid flooding in the State, assuring that the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the full implementation of the Y2022 budget.
The Commissioner, however, appealed to all residents to fulfil their civic responsibilities by paying their taxes as and when due in order to ensure optimal performance of the budget.
Good morning to you all.
*TEN (10) MISTAKES NOT TO MAKE AS A 21ST CENTURY TEACHER*
(1.) Don't send a learner away from your class during teaching and learning as a result of bad behavior. This is because you cannot account for what the student may be doing outside and this can count against you if an accident occurs.
(2.) Don't touch a learner inordinately. This is because the learner might claim he or she was abused either sexually/physically.You may not be able to refute it.
(3.) Don't give assignments you don't have time to mark. Unmarked assignments or home work indicate incompetency/unprofessionalism.
(4.) Don't give emotional punishment to your learners. It reduces their chances of becoming a better learner.
(5.) Don't just teach within the period given to you, especially when you are preparing learners for external examinations. Do create more contact time for your learners.
(6.) Don't stay with a learner alone in a class, laboratory, office etc. Child's protection policy forbids it. Try and avoid "one corner" teaching.
(7.) Don't ask a child to kneel down for too long a time. He or she might have a health challenge you are not aware of.
(8.) Don't conspire against your school head( Head of Department, academic head etc). What goes around, comes around.
(9.) Don't be a difficult educator and avoid transferred aggression on any learner. Pocket your personal challenges and always be full of life.
(10.) Don't treat learners unequally. There should be nothing like favourite learner. Every child matters.
Resumption tips! Thanks
On a cold night, a billionaire met an old poor man outside. He asked him, "Aren't you feeling cold outside, and you're not even wearing a coat!" The old man replied, "I don't have a coat but I'm used to it. The billionaire replied, "wait for me. I'll just go home and get you a coat."
The poor man was so happy and said he will wait for him. The billionaire got to his house and got busy there and forgot about the poor man. The following morning, he remembered the poor old man and went out to find him but found him dead due to the cold.
The poor old man left a letter saying, "when I had no warm clothes, I had the mental strength to fight the cold, but when you promised to help me, I clinged to your promise and it killed my mental power."
Don't promise anything if you can't keep your promise. It may not be necessary to you, but it could be everything to someone else.
A Maasai man walks into a bank in NAIROBI and asks for the loan officer. He tells the loan officer that he is going to DUBAI on business for four weeks and needs to borrow 5,000.
The bank officer tells him that bank will need some form of security for the loan, so the maasai man hands over the keys to a brand new Mercedes Benz S class 500 parked on the street in front of the bank.
Produces the log book and everything checks out. The loan officer agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.
The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the maasai for using a KSH 15 Million Mercedes Benz as collateral against a 5,000 loan.
An employee of the bank then drives the Mercedes Benz into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Four weeks later, the maasai returns, repays the 5,000 and the interest, which comes to 150.41.
The loan officer says :
'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business & this transaction has worked out very nicely but we are a little puzzled.
While you were away, we checked you out & found that you are a multi millionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow 5,000?'
The Masai man replies: 'Where else in NAIROBI can I park my car four weeks for only 150.41 and expect it to be there when I return?'

*Noble*
"There was this poor man who *wrote a book at age of 40* and decided to launch it on his Birthday.
He had no money to fund the launching and so, *he decided to seek help from a millionaire* in his community.
He made a visit to the Millionaires home and after they exchanged pleasantries, he told his host what brought him.
The Millionaire told him to take out a piece of paper and pen.
He said, " I will give you a test. If you pass it, I will give you the money you need and if you fail, I will still give you the money"
He then told him to write down the names of 10 people who could give him 10k each for his book during the launch.
Surprisingly, the man could not write even 3 names.
Now, take a glass of water and let me tell you something..
It is not enough to have talent and skills. You must understand the power of building valuable relationship.
It was a wise man that said, *your network is directly proportional to your net worth.*
*_Relationship is a currency_*
Relationship is a stream of income. Everything in this life actually reproduces on the basis of relationship.
See eh, *Who likes you in this life matters.*
_Men are lifted through men._
*Many of us are talented but we lack a cup bearer* to tell the King that there is a Joseph that can interpret dreams.
*Who you know matters a lot in this life.* Don't say it doesn't matter. It does.
There are heights and opportunities you will never attain if you don't understand *the power of Keeping Valuable Relationships* .
When they say, *turn and greet your neighbour at any gathering at times, you don't even know who you are talking to* .
That might be the CEO of a company. But sometimes, *we despise people based on their outward looks and judge them wrongly.*
Have this wisdom am sharing with you.
That person you sit with in class, or the colleagues at work or the group members that you look down on, may be the ones that will lead you to your destiny helper because you have no idea who they know.
Sometimes, it takes just a recommendation to change your story.
*Don't despise men in Life.* You will need them one day.
Sometimes *those who crown Kings don't look like kings* and may never become kings but they can help you wear the crown.
Again
Shut the door of relationship gently you may need to use it tomorrow
