Garri now belongs to the rich
then what's for the poor?

Before, whenever I couldn't lay my hands on something to feed my kids yet, I could simply buy small garri and soak for them to sip with or without sugar and they were always good
But what about now?😥

At Least I could surprise them with their favourite meal (rice and stew with chicken) on Sundays just to watch them eat with smiles, dance and say "mummy thank you God will bless you" over and over again
But how can I do that now without breaking the bank?😩

Beans that was my friend,
Beans that was always standing for me,
Beans that I could make with the least amount for them to use and sip garri and feel full for a longer period of the day before coming back to to shout "Mummy I am hungry"
where is beans now?

Forget about noodles,
they wont even request for it anymore like they used to do before because they understand the situation of things

Not to mention meat, fish and the likes
We don't even look to their direction in the market anymore because of fear of being embarrassed

But what about Crayfish?
Crayfish that we normally use in place of fish to at least add nutrients and taste to our food,
It has gone so high, before you can get a reasonable crayfish flavour in your food,
You must have spent a fortune

No need to preach about the negativity of seasoning cubes as you all do online anymore because the high cost of seasoning cubes has automatically made everyone start using lesser quantity👏

Everything tastes sweet now,
There are no bad cooks anymore because all that is important is to see the food and eat first, doesn't matter whether it tastes good, rich in nutrients or fibre blah blah blah 😥

So what can the poor do?
Even when they chose to forget about nutrients, diets and eat to survive where is the food?

Now that all the food has belonged to the rich class, what's for the poor?

It's about time they do something about this food price before something do us
(Especially garri)😭

YOU MUST HEAR THIS

A Toxicologist that operates a snake farm which harbours 4,700,000 snakes in Nasarawa State was in Brekete Family Radio this morning.

He provided the following information on the things that attract snakes to the house are:

1) Egg shells can attract snakes 15 kilometers away.

2) Chickens

3) Rats

4) Frogs

And whatever it can swallow.

All snakes are poisonous except python.

But the speed of the circulation and strength of the poison differ.

Tying a bandage or tourniquet around snake bite causes swelling and can paralyze the part of the body bitten by the snake.

Trekking after a snake bite increases the rate/speed of circulation of the poison which can result to death.

Drinking cold water from the fridge slows down the flow of the poison.

Being calm and reducing movement helps.

Chewing pawpaw leaf and swallowing the liquid stops the flow of snake poison till treatment is received.

If a snake spits its deadly venom into the eye, it can be treated if the victim seeks help on time.

But if the venom enters the nose, the victim can die in a matter of minutes.

But more dangerous than snake is wall Gecko. It is deadlier than snake.

If it leaks a tooth brush and someone uses the brush to clean teeth without washing it first, the person will die.

The s**t can kill. So cover your pot and water containers.

I got my first money in life while I was in Junior Secondary 1 as a laborer at a building site.

It was 600 naira.

Before I got hold of this money, I had carried 200 blocks up for the mason.

I was so small and yellow that people sent me home and wondered why I took such a decision but that was because I grew from an average home and we are 4 boys (lost my only sister) while I am the second and you know what happens in an average family.

If hunger was a name, my family would be called one because hunger was the order of the day then.

Taking garri was the order of the day. I mean the kind of garri you soak for long so it'll rise and be enough for the family and as boys, we'll finish it under seconds.

Cocoyam knew us as much as it was also part of our top-notch meal but we suffered it because it was always itching our mouths and áss sometimes but in all, you'll never know because we were always happy.

After I got my first money, I gave my mom 500 naira so she could cook for us while I saved 100 naira. Then, 500 naira could prepare a pot of soup manageable for the family.

I could remember her saying I'll be heard all over the world for good, that my greatness will pass down to generations and she cried while praying that for me because she couldn't stand the sight of her small son fending for the family.

I have done several jobs. I mean, several and I have knowledge of so many things and I have A1 in suffering and torture.

This continued till I left Secondary Education.

I grew up seeing myself play a fatherly role not just in the family but to many even to date.

If you're very close to me, you'll know I rarely think about myself ranging from what to eat, clothes, the latest gadgets, and what have you.

I think about another first!

So, I ensured I wasn't going to fail in life or see people suffer without any quota from me.

I have made several mistakes while in the bid for survival you know and life has taught me several lessons which molded me into who I am today.

There are so many things I don't crave even when I can afford them now because I feel there's always someone out there who needs help more than my cravings.

This is a brief of who I am and today, I can proudly tell you I am the CEO of VianceTea.

I am writing to let you know that the personality you are admiring from afar, didn't fall from Heaven neither was he born with a silver spoon. I created the spoon and I am still working on making it a silver spoon.
.And if your family is currently facing what we faced years ago, don't wait for a door to open. Create one for yourself and the good of all!

Don't wait for opportunities, go search them.

Above all, mind the association you roll with. They can either make or mar your progress in life and always be contented in the little you have till your seeds bear fruits.

I will never forget this day in a hurry, my sister insisted I accompanied her to a small gathering because she didn't want to go alone.

I was never the going out kind of person, ever since I started my business, I completely cut off my social life so I could save up the little profit I was making to expand my business.

After weeks of pleading, I finally agreed to accompany her.

I remember how I had to go make my hair just for this. I have been carrying my natural hair for God knows how long and it was unkept.

I remember how I almost cancelled on her because I really could not come up with what to wear especially since she had insisted it was a gathering of high class.

After hours of emptying my whole box and scattering my clothes, I finally found something to wear. Yes it was cheap but it was my best outfit at that time.

Only for me to get to that gathering and they were playing a game. A game were you pick a partner and try to sum up the total worth of everything your partner was wearing.

When it got to my turn, my partner made a statement, in her own words she said 'this one no suppose hard na, everything for her body no pass 10K" and they all started laughing.

Everybody except my sister because she knew I was never going to agree to accompany her again.

Those words struck me hard but it was not a lie. Yes everything I was putting on was less than 10K but I had over a million naira in my account that I have been saving to expand my business.

It didn't get to me because I knew I was making the right sacrifices for my future. Yes everything I was putting on was less than 10K and I had nothing to be ashamed about it.

Learn to slay within your budget until you can fully afford your lifestyle.

People asked me how I was able to expand my business within a very short period of time and my answer was very simple.

I lived intentionally within my means. I am using the word intentionally because I was very intentional about it.

I intentionally excused myself from social gatherings not because I didn't want to go, but because I didn't have the right outfit for them.

I intentionally made excuses from going to places that will temper with my savings and my goals.

I sacrificed my social life completely to be able to meet up with my goals.

I lost some friendship forever because I was not showing up in places like I use. Again that was very necessary.

You see this journey call life, if you must succeed, you will have to do away with every form of distractions and by that I mean anything that will hinder you from achieving your goals even if it has to cost you some friendship or temporary pleasure.

You have to be discipline enough to stick to your plans regardless of how you feel and what people think because you are denying yourself temporary pleasure for a future reward. A future that only you can see.

You have to be willing to make sacrifices for it even if it has to cost you your comfort especially if you don't have any form of inheritance or you are starting from the scratch like me.

It will not be easy but a very necessary part of your process to growth.

There will be a time when you can fully afford the lifestyle you want, but until then, do not give in.

Use your money to make more money, not to look like you have money. There's a big difference.

While the first will set you up for life, the second will only put you in debt. Please choose your shame wisely.
