SAFETY NOTICE TO ALL STUDENTS

The attention of the Students’ Union Government has been drawn to information reaching us regarding a fire outbreak at the Ogun–Guangdong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ), Igbesa, which is in close proximity to some student hostels around the Obanla axis.

While relevant authorities are reportedly responding to the situation, the Students’ Union deems it necessary to prioritize the safety and well-being of all students.

In view of this, students especially those residing around Obanla axis and its environs are hereby advised to remain calm but vigilant, and to strictly observe the following safety measures:
1. Avoid unnecessary movement towards the affected area or fire scene.

2. Stay indoors where it is safe to do so and keep doors and windows closed if there is smoke in the environment.

3. Switch off electrical appliances and gas sources as a precaution.

4. Follow instructions from hostel managers, landlords, and emergency responders if evacuation becomes necessary.

5. Check on one another and promptly report any emergency or unusual development to the appropriate authorities.

The Students’ Union Government is closely monitoring the situation and communicating with relevant stakeholders to ensure students’ safety. Further updates will be communicated as information becomes available.

We urge all students to remain calm, prayerful, and safety-conscious.

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, under the leadership of Comrade Senator Ilo Fadilu Temitope (BIG F.A), hereby formally announces the acceptance of Engr. Temitayo Agemo Okuboyejo, an Engineer and the Chief Executive Officer of the Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo Renaissance Project, as the Matron of the Students’ Union Government for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Following a formal approach and request by the Students’ Union Government, Engr. Temitayo Agemo Okuboyejo graciously accepted the invitation to serve as a Matron, demonstrating her passion for youth development, student leadership, and educational advancement.

Her acceptance is a welcome development and a major boost to the Union’s vision of strengthening mentorship, leadership grooming, and student-centered initiatives within the institution. As a Matron, she is expected to offer guidance, mentorship, and professional support toward the successful implementation of programs and projects aimed at the overall welfare and development of OGITECH students.

The Students’ Union Government sincerely appreciates Engr. Temitayo Agemo Okuboyejo for accepting this noble responsibility and for her willingness to contribute to the growth and progress of student leadership in Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.
