Universities unlikely to resume on January 18 due to second wave of Covid-19
Conducting physical session, physical lectures with students would be more disastrous
“It is definitely a threat to the resumption of academic activities. The fact is that under this circumstance and looking at the threat of the figure, going physical with students would be more disastrous.
“The lecture halls are overcrowded. As of today, in my own campus, I have not seen any facility for hand washing. Who is to provide sanitizers? Do you expect lecturers to provide sanitizers for themselves. Fumigation of the environment from time to time should be done.
Dr Adebayo Oni, Chairman of ASUU-FUNAAB, added that the University lacks protective materials for hand washing, as lecturers have not been provided sanitizers. He also warned that the University may not have the capabilities to deal with a surge of student during the pandemic
“There is no way universities can achieve that. I have said this elsewhere, that rather than for government to have addressed the obvious deficits in the public universities during the lockdown and strike, they were playing to the gallery.”

The Cross River State Government has announced an official date for resumption of third (3rd) term academic activities for 2019/2020 academic session

All public schools in Cross River State has been scheduled to resume on Tuesday June 16th, 2020 as the State government plans a special protective measures for children and others.

All Cross River State Citizens, Residents and the general public are hereby informed that So far the state remains the only state in the county without the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and poised to maintain that standard, the State government is braising the trail again as it has commenced the mass production of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for trial resumption of public schools

The Cross River State Government has has therefore scheduled a a trial resumption of schools to be onTuesday June 16th, 2020. Students will wear face masks and face shield to school. Once at the school gate the children will wash their hands and legs. Hand sanitizers will also be used. When the children enter the class room, they will remove the face mask and use only the face shield so as to get enough ventilation.

Upon closure, they will wear back their masks and wear the shields and go back home. Teachers will wear same and under go the same coronavirus protocols in the class room.

If this special strategy works, the state will be the first state in the county to resume since the pandemic and forced closure of schools in March.

Di Lagos State Govment make dis announcement on Monday say all public and private schools below tertiary level for di state Lagos State go reopen for di second term 2020/21 academic session from Monday, 18th of January, 2021.
For inside statement, di Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo say dis decision dey in line wit federal goment directives plus di second wave of di COVID-19 Pandemic.
She ask all schools to make efforts to comply wit all di Covid-19 requirements for resumption schools.
"No be just for di improvement of overall school operations but for di safe reopening of academic activities to support di Lagos State Govment quest for full return." she add am.
Di Commissioner also advise make schools get flexible plans wia students and teachers wey dey sick fit teach or learn from home through available online platforms.
Wearing of facemasks at all times, physical distancing, regular hand washing wit soap under running water and maintaining high standard of personal hygiene within di school premises na di order wey health authorities don put for ground for schools to follow as dem dey reopen.

di join body of Nigeria lecturers - and di Nigeria federal goment don dey jam head since di past eight months, and throughout dis period di union remain on strike, as dem insist say dem no go work until goment meet all dia demands.
From Monday March 9, 2020 reach now university students for Nigeria still sidon for house as lecturers no gree go back to class.
Throughout dis time, goment and di union don do plenty plenty meeting to discuss di mata but each time dem dey jam rock.
But wetin be dis mata wey goment and ASUU dey drag since wey dem neva fit still find solution and how di tok between di two don take waka so far?
March 9
On March 9 dis year, ASUU begin two weeks warning strike to protests no-pay of salary to lecturers wey no follow for di federal goment Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
Dem argue say, IPPIS no go work for lecturers becos e no consider di special way wey universities dey take operate.
As solution, di union suggest make goment find way to integrate di University Transparency Accountability Solutions (UTAS) wey di lecturer union develop wit IPPIS.
Nigeria minister for labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige bin describe di strike as "illegal."

As di two weeks warning strike still dey happun, di Nigeria goment give di union conditions wey dem go take integrate UTAS wit IPPIS.
Di two sides no gree tok wetin dis conditions be.

Di union begin indefinite strike afta dem reject di conditions.
On dat day, di national president of di union, Biodun Ogunyemi, accuse goment of trying to force dem to join IPPIS.

Di federal goment sama blame on ASUU afta peaceful ENDSARS protests wey call for end to police brutality and bad governance start on October 5, later catapult to shooting for Lekki tollgate and di loss of lives and properties for di kontri.

Just to clarify you, this phrase, "there is only two universities in Nigeria" is only applicable to UNN, not just because its bearing the nation's name; Nigeria, but because of the quality of graduates it keeps churning out.

These pics are doing a whole lot of injustice to this university. It's simply a beautiful university, silently churning out academic gurus over time. Some of its strongest faculties include theatre arts, medicine and law. Of the 8 of us that that graduated second upper in my set, we have a judge, a SAN, a couple of high profile executive management gurus in banks and financial services outfits, we have a law dean, amongst others. If I had to live my life again, i will still be a malabite

This option gives access to purchase Post-UTME pin from the portal. Click Buy Post-UTME Pin Online to purchase the Post-UTME pin online. Login with the TRANSACTION ID as the PIN into the portal.

Scratch Card Option:
This option is available in the following banks within Calabar Metropolis ONLY:
a. Unical Microfinance Bank
b. WEMA Bank
c. First city Monument Bank
d. Heritage Bank
