23 months like 23 defining years; Mrs. Fabeku Adenike Olukemi in retrospect
The Madam Project of SOS Ogbomoso
The Second Female Principal
The Woman with the Courage of Steel
The Mother with the Heart of Gold
The Leader with the Cleansing Touch
When history wishes to correct itself, When an institution is gasping for breath, God sends MEN sometimes… But at very crucial moments, He sends WOMEN. And in January 2024, He sent you — Mrs. Fabeku Adenike Olukemi, as VP ADMIN to School of Science Ogbomoso.
You came at a time when our banner was stained, When confidence was leaking out of our walls. You came not with noise, Not with fanfare, But with purpose — Posted alongside Mr. Olaleru, Like two cleansing agents sent to purify a sanctuary.
A look at you from afar could deceive a stranger — They might see a firm woman, One not ready for nonsense, One who won’t bend to emotional manipulation. But a closer look? Ah! They’ll discover a Mother-General, A woman with truth on her tongue, A disciplinarian with fairness in her bloodstream, A leader who will tell you the TRUTH even if it will make you cry, A woman who will spoil you with resources Yet hold you to the highest standard of accountability.
Give you assignment? Yes. But she will also spoil you with tools to accomplish it and still check on your progress like a protective mother hen.
Under her watch, dormant files woke up, abandoned projects resurrected, and the school began to breathe again.
Officers got promotion, Senior colleagues got duty posting, some concluded their postgraduate studies, some got encouraged to go for higher degree just because *Mummy Fabeku cares*
Old Students started their building — A project many thought was a myth.
Prof. Adebayo visited and left us with a Laptop and Printer.
The students’ toilet project? Completed. Competitions? We did not only participate. We SHINED.
School of Science Ogbomoso became a name they recon with. We came 2nd at the last Blockchain Oratory Contest — A feat that put our school back on the spotlight.
Laboratory equipment arrived in numbers, PTA building is facelifted and nearly wearing a brand-new look, And our school regained its pride, its voice, its dignity.
You didn’t just lead — You repaired.
You didn’t just repair — You restored.
You didn’t just restore — You rebuilt.
And you did all these with the gracefulness of a queen and the firmness of a soldier.
Many times, your truth felt bitter, But later tasted sweet. Your decisions felt tough, But later proved right. Your leadership felt strict, But produced peace.
No wonder officers whisper your name like a proverb: "If Mummy Fabeku handles it, consider it done."
You remain a Case Study in Human Psychology, A practical model in Emotional Intelligence, An example of Leadership by Backbone and Heart combined.
Now, retirement calls — officially on 3rd December, 2025, But your Thanksgiving will echo on 10th December 2025, And the walls of School of Science Ogbomoso will remember your footsteps long after your chair is empty.
Like the leaders before you, You laid a foundation, But unlike many, You strengthened the pillars.
The truth? YOU ARE NOT JUST RETIRING. You are graduating into honor.
Your journey proves that: Integrity still wins. Discipline still pays. Hard truth still saves. And WOMEN still build nations.
Your highest attainment shall be the starting point for your children. Your seeds of goodness will germinate in unexpected places. And your legacy will outlive your years.
You've not only taught us the theory of togetherness, you've displayed it severally with the bonding that exists between you and our Revered Director Mummy OLABODE, our exceptional I.G Reverend Oyedokun, I.G 2, Mrs Kayode, Mrs Aremu, our great Baba Adisa and a host of others this journey has brought together so far!
Just like your predecessors; Mr Bartholomew ISHOLA, Mr Ajani Sunday and a host of others are flourishing well after their retirement, yours shall not be a bad exception as the school welcomes a Brand new VP ADMIN; Mr Oladayo.
Congratulations Ma. You came. You cleaned. You corrected. You built. You blessed. And you conquered.
Long live the Ministry of Education that brought us together.
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
With a large heart from your , Elegbede cares.
