History was made today, May 5, 2026, as Standard College of Nursing Sciences, Minna held its maiden National Diploma matriculation ceremony. The colorful event, which took place on the school premises, was attended by top dignitaries from key ministries and organizations.

The Standard College of Nursing Sciences, Minna, received a delegation from the Niger State Ministry of Tertiary Education on a routine inspection visit led by the Honourable Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary.

The team was warmly received by the College management and subsequently conducted a tour of the institution’s facilities, including classrooms, laboratories, library, and administrative sections.

At the end of the inspection, the delegation commended the College for meeting the required standards of tertiary education and maintaining a conducive environment for teaching and learning. The management was particularly applauded for its commitment to quality nursing education and institutional excellence.

The team also pointed out some grey areas for improvement, which were duly noted by the management with assurances of prompt attention and corrective action.

The visit concluded on a cordial note, reaffirming continued collaboration between the Ministry and the institution in strengthening quality education delivery in the state.

Summary of NBTE Familiarization & Interactive Visit to Standard College of Nursing Sciences Minna.

The institution had the privilege of hosting the NBTE North Central Zonal Office team for a familiarization and interactive session aimed at strengthening institutional compliance and quality assurance.

The meeting commenced with an opening prayer, followed by introductions of both the school management team and the NBTE delegation led by the Zonal Team Leader. A welcome address was delivered by the Provost, setting the tone for a productive engagement.

In his presentation, the NBTE Team Leader outlined the purpose of the visit as part of an ongoing assignment to institutions within the North Central Zone. He emphasized that NBTE, as a regulatory body under the Federal Ministry of Education, is responsible for overseeing and maintaining standards in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, including accreditation for ND and HND programmes.

Key points highlighted include:
• The importance of adhering strictly to established standards and guidelines.
• The role of NBTE in ensuring quality assurance across institutions.
• The need for institutions to address identified gaps from previous accreditation exercises, among others.

The team also shared insights into recent institutional approvals, noting significant progress in the sector.

The session was interactive and insightful, providing the institution with valuable guidance towards continuous improvement and sustained compliance with regulatory standards.
