Breaking: NUJ Pen College Takes Custody of 2024 NECO results as candidates recorded successes

Monday October 21, 2024.

The NUJ Pen College, Nyiman-Makurdi, Benue State has taken custody of the gazetted results for the 2024 National Examinations Council (NECO).

A critical analysis of the results indicated that the school raised the bar higher than last year's performance as 63.2% obtained credits/distinctions in at least five (5) subjects and above including English and Mathematics.

The results which is yet to be uploaded on the NECO portal due to technical hitches can be collected in the school.

Therefore Candidates can visit the school during working hours to check and collect their results respectively.

*International Day of the Girl Child Celebrated at NUJ Pen College, Makurdi.*

Friday October 11, 2024.

The International Day of the Girl Child was today celebrated at NUJ Pen College Nyiman-Makurdi, Benue State.

The Day is observed annually on October 11. The International Day of the Girl Child is a key global moment to celebrate girls everywhere, amplifying their voices, actions and leadership.

The 2024 international Day of the Girl Child with the theme *"Girls' Vision for the Future"* conveys both the need for urgent action and persistent hope, driven by the power of girls' voices and vision for the future.

NUJ Pen College, Arabic Secondary School, and Community Secondary School, Apir are three of the selected schools in Makurdi L G where the day was celebrated by 'JEWEL GIRL CARE' and More Initiative, a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) in Benue State.
The Executive Director and Lead Facilitator, Mrs Dooshima Upev urged all girls to develop a positive vision for the future stressing that for every right, there is a corresponding responsibility.

In another event marking the day at the college, a raising awareness of the girl child sensitization on feminity and hygiene was organized by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Member, ONYINYECHI Akachukwu and her team members serving in the state.

Sanitary pads, toothpaste, tooth brush and food items were shared by the organizers to all the girls present at the event.

NEWSFLASH: *New Dean of Studies appointed for NUJ Pen College.*

Monday October 7, 2024.

A new Dean of Studies has been appointed for NUJ Pen College, Nyiman-Makurdi, Benue State.

He is Mr. Iyo Sesugh Emmanuel.
This was disclosed in a statement today by the Principal, Mr. IGBUUSU, Buter Emmanuel.
According to Mr. Igbuusu, the appointment takes immediate effect.

Mr. Emmanuel takes over from Mrs. Agbange Dookenger who has been redeployed to the Entrepreneurship department as Head of the Department.

It's our believe that Mr. Emmanuel will bring his wealth of experience and expertise to his new role in the management of the affairs of the college for enhanced effective oriented results.

LG ELECTIONS: *Benue State Govt. Declares Friday Work-Free Day*

Thursday, October 3rd, 2024.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has officially declared Friday, October 4th, 2024, as a work-free day.

He said that the declaration was necessitated by his desire to give the electorate of Benue State ample opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas in preparation for the forthcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024.

He charged the citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and collaboration during the elections, reinforcing the need for unity and cooperation among all parties involved.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: FG declares Tuesday Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 as a public holiday to commemorate the nation's 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry on Saturday.

BECE 2024: *NUJ Pen College Shines as all the students pass.*

Saturday September 28, 2024.

NUJ Pen College, Nyiman-Makurdi, have achieved outstanding performance in the just released results of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as the school raised the bar higher than last year's performance.

A breakdown of the results indicates that, out of the seventy five (75) candidates who sat for the examination, all the students passed with at least a distinction, credit or a pass in all the subjects. The results shows that only one student got an "F" in Mathematics.
Details of the results further revealed that many candidates passed at distinction and credit grades only without a pass. A look at the result also indicates that all the students had an 'A' or 'C' in C.C.A, P.V.S and Nat. Values respectively.

With this performance, there is no doubt that NUJ Pen College under the New Management has transformed greatly in all ramifications.

2024 MOCK SSCE CONCLUDED TODAY

The 2024 MOCK SSCE for the SSS 2 students proceeding to SSS 3 has officially ended today at NUJ Pen College, Nyiman-Makurdi.

The examination which commenced on September 12, 2024 lasted for three weeks.

The 2024 MOCK SSCE was earlier slated to hold in July but was later postponed by the Benue State Examinations Board.

About forty seven candidates took part in the examination at the college. It's our hope and prayer that the candidates who participated in the examination shall all pass in flying colours when the results are released.

Following this development, the students involved have been asked to resume school on Monday September 30, 2024 for official commencement of the first term of 2024/2025 academic session in SSS 3.

BREAKING NEWS: NECO releases 2024 results; 61% pass English, Maths

The National Examinations Council, NECO, has released the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination internal results.

This was disclosed on Thursday, September 19, by the NECO’s Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi.

He briefed journalists in Minna during the release of the 2024 SSCE internal results.

Also, Wushishi said that NECO blacklisted 21 supervisors in 12 states. They also de-recognised one school in Ekiti state for mass cheating in three subjects.

According to NECO, 1,376,423 registered for the examination out of which 1,367,736 eventually sat for it.

Meanwhile, 828,284 candidates, representing 60.55%, made five credits in English and Mathematics.

PUBLIC NOTICE: COLLECTION OF ORIGINAL SSCE CERTIFICATES

This is to inform the general public especially students who graduated from the college that their original SSCE certificates are all available in the school for collection.

Therefore all those who graduated and are yet to collect their certificates are advised to visit the school during office hours for collection of their certificates.

You are to note that failure to collect your certificate at the appropriate time shall attract more charges depending on the duration for which the certificate lasts under the school's custody.

2024 MOCK SSCE COMMENCES AT NUJ PEN COLLEGE, NYIMAN

The 2024 MOCK SSCE has officially commenced at NUJ Pen College, Nyiman today being Thursday, September 12, 2024.

The examination which was earlier postponed by the Benue State Examinations Board began with the students taking English Language today.

About forty seven (47) candidates are taking part in the examination at the college.

The examination is expected to last till September 26, 2024.

The block which houses the Principal's office, Basic 7, 8,9 and SS1 classes is wearing a new look courtesy of the New Management.
