A Reminder of God's Goodness
Nahum's letter to the people of Judah, in the southern part of Israel, is both a call for repentance and a letter of judgment. The northern tribes had already been exiled to Assyria, and the unfaithfulness of Judah was also leading them into exile.
There's a lot happening in Judah at this time. It's an era of na ional turmoil. The people have been unfaithful. But rather than focusing on the surrounding dangers or the cultural pressures, Nahum points the people back to the character of God-which never changes.
Nahum reminds us that God is good. Even though the world around Israel was changing rapidly, their God remained the same. He is always good. In the midst of every circumstance, we can trust that God will never change but will always desire what is good for us.
Nahum continues to remind us that God is a refuge in the midst of difficult times. Because God is all-powerful, He can protect you from the dangers of this world. But even when you face hard things, He will be there to help you get through them.
Lastly, Nahum tells us that God cares for those who trust in Him. As you put your trust in God, He cares for and watches over your soul. While it can be difficult to trust God in uncertain times, Scripture tells us that it is the only way to true security.
Take some time today to consider your own life and the circumstances you're in. Whether your situation is a good one or a bad one, remember these three truths:
God is good.
God is your refuge.
God cares for you when you trust in Him.

What God Loves
Psalm 33 is a beautiful chapter of the Bible. The writer's motivation is clear praise. Praise God for how powerful He is, how good He is, how righteous He is. Praise Him for His steady plans, His all-knowing faithfulness, His love for His people. Praise God. Early on in this outpouring of praise, the psalmist say of God, "He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord."(Psalm 33:5) He doesn't just appreciate, tolerate, or approve of justice and righteousness. He loves them. If we, like God, love righteousness and justice, that means we cannot also love anything that is unrighteous or unjust. The world is full of dark things that call for our attention and affection. But God, in His steadiness, never stops loving the exact same things righteousness and justice.
Is the earth full of darkness, evil, and sin? Yes. But don't forget, this verse reminds us of something else the earth is full of His unfailing love.
Today, take a moment to read all of Psalm 33. Look for how you can add your praise of God to this psalm o f praise. Has God brought justice for you? Has He helped you turn from sin and toward righteousness? How has God been good to you? Let the last three verses put your heart at ease, watching over you and encouraging you today
"We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. Inhim our hear ts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone."
Psalm 33:20-2 2 NLT

WHAT MANNER OF MAN STANDS IN THE WAY OF THE PROGRESS OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD?
It is becoming very clear that the bible verse which says the enemies of a man shall be those of his own household is being made manifest day by day in Benue and it looks as though there are people who have vowed that Benue will NEVER progress and as such are taking every step possible to frustrate efforts to break the shakles of poverty and hopelessness that have tied this state down for so long.
A few days ago I read an article in which someone was instigating and inciting the public to rise up against His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, to stop him from "ruining an established leadership style" in the state. I didn't quite understand. I thought if anyone, any elder statesman for that matter, would call for a a protest or uprising against a sitting Governor, it should be for the good of the state and her citizens and not for a few elites seeking their personal gains. If there is a need for any protest or uprising, it should be against those who are seeking to loot tax payers money, a "norm" my principal the governor is ready to fight to a standstill.
Just yesterday, I noticed a call by a coalition of "Benue Political parties" calling on president Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to "intervene" in the Benue situation.๐ค๐ค๐ค
First of all I looked closely at the Caliber of people who were in that press briefing, I tried very hard to identify at least one member of the "political Parties" but I couldn't. We know the political parties in the state and at least their state leadership, those people were looking like messengers who were sent out for the particular purpose of trying to discredit my principal. And I say trying to because everyone saw through their nakedness.
My concern is, WHO will want to stop the progress we are seeing in Benue, except for sworn enemies of the state? WHO will want to cause instability in the state except those with hidden looting agendas? WHO will want to see the state remained the way it was, without progress, except those who are ashamed of what they did when they had opportunities? Why will anyone want us to go back to the days of no salaries? The days when pensioners died on the streets of the state capital? The days when going to the Benue state Teaching Hospital was a death sentence? Why would anyone want Benue citizens to continue plying unpaved roads? Which Benue citizen is that, that does not want us to enjoy the Asphalt, thorough concreting of the Benue Links premises which was hitherto water logged and constantly flooding? Or should we withdraw the 100 buses that have made it possible for us to travel to all LG headquarters , or is it the subsidized fares that are a bad thing?
The ONLY crime my principal, the Executive governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is guilty of is trying to bring the long awaited and overdue development to Benue state. His dogged determination to ensure we all get democracy dividends is why mbayuhwev are calling for his head.
All things considered, I have come to the conclusion that ONLY the enemies of Benue and her progress will want to dis-stabilize the state. Those who love the state are happy the way things are and are praying for His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to succeed because we believe that with him at the helm of affairs, Our Benue will surely be great again.
