My great admiration to the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Borno State. Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe FNSE for a successful, visionary and remarkable leadership in the history of Education in Borno State.

It's worthy of mention to express my feelings and gratitude over the visionary and exemplary leadership that we never thoughts of, except with the coming of you sir as the Hon. Commissioner for Education, Science , Technology and Innovation in our dear State.

As a matter of fact, Education is the means to transform generations positively, and for over decades of service in the education sector your ways and manners of addressing issues that exist even prior to your time, that clearly shows "you hit the nail on the head".

With the giant effort of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum CON mni FNSE FNIAE and having you as the Chief Executive Officer of Education in the State, the entire system has been revitalized through provisions of infrastructural facilities,teachers welfare and learning materials,and ensuring conducive learning atmosphere across the 27 LGAs of the state.

Indeed, the effort you put in place toward achieving greatness in education will never be in vain. And,by the grace of Almighty Allah the future will justify you right Sir, as the reward of good is nothing but good.

As the Education secretary of Chibok LGEA, speaking on behalf of entire staff and students of chibok LGEA, I will like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for the selfish service you rendered in Chibok Community and beyond. May the Almighty continue to guide you through your carrier endeavour.

Your significant impact sir in the education sector is highly commendable. And you will be forever remembered for the aesthetic values you bring to the system.

We hope and pray that may Allah (SWT) elevate you again to another level of leadership.

HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER VISITS DISPLACED NGOSHE STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS

Today, Saturday 15th March 2026, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, visited Pulka to commiserate with displaced students of Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) Ngoshe, Ngoshe Primary School, and Ngoshe Junior Secondary School who are currently residing in a displacement camp in Pulka.

Upon arrival at the camp, the Commissioner was received by the Chairman of Gwoza Local Government Area, Hon. Abba Kawu Shehu Timta, and the District Head of Ngoshe, Alhaji Aminu Shaibu. He subsequently paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwoza, HRH Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timta.

While addressing the displaced students, their parents, and members of the community, Engr. Wakilbe expressed deep sympathy over the difficult situation they are facing and encouraged them to remain hopeful. He urged them to take solace in the will of Allah and continue to pray for lasting peace and stability in their community.

The Commissioner assured the displaced families that the government remains committed to supporting them during this challenging period. He explained that if schools resume before the full rehabilitation and resettlement of Ngoshe, the government will relocate all secondary school students to boarding schools in Maiduguri to ensure that their education continues uninterrupted until their schools and community are fully restored.

As part of the Ministry’s support, the Commissioner donated cash, food items, non-food items, clothing, and dignity kits to the displaced students and their families.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Education Secretary of Gwoza Local Government Area, Habila Putaya; the Principal of GDSS Ngoshe, Ibrahim Kasuda; and the Principal of JDSS Ngoshe, Aminu Abubakar.

ASSESSMENT VISIT TO MAYANTI SITE

The Chairman of the Bama Reconstruction Committee, Hon. Engr. Lawan Abba Wakilbe, alongside members of the committee, paid an assessment visit to Mayanti town in Bama Local Government Area following the insurgents’ attack that occurred on Saturday, 28th February 2026.

During the visit, Engr. Wakilbe commiserated with the soldiers over the death of Major Mairiga, describing him as a gallant officer who paid the ultimate price in service to his country. He prayed for the repose of the late officer’s soul and expressed deep sympathy to the military and the bereaved family.

The Chairman also assured the community that construction work at the site will resume immediately after the Eid celebrations, noting that the committee will do everything within its capacity to restore activities and ensure the timely completion of the project.
