BoSASEB FOCUS: Day Two Update on the Sangaya Huffaz Training and Certification Programme in Biu.

The Sangaya Huffaz Training and Certification Programme for Southern Borno Sangaya graduates continued successfully today, April 14, 2026, in Biu Local Government Area, with the second day dedicated to interface with the applicants.

The programme, organized in collaboration with the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS), Kaduna, and initiated by the Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board (BoSASEB), is designed to integrate Sangaya graduates into the national educational framework. It also aims to provide recognition for those who have completed the memorization of the Glorious Qur’an through certification by NBAIS, alongside basic Western education subjects such as Computer Studies, English, Mathematics, and Civic Education.

Following the successful opening ceremony on Day One, activities for Day Two focused on a comprehensive interface and screening for finding most qualified applicants for the program through structured interviews to assess the competence and readiness of the applicants.

The exercise continues to witness active participation from candidates across Biu, Bayo, Hawul, Kwaya Kusar, and Shani Local Government Areas, under the supervision of BoSASEB officials.

The screening process is being led by Algoni Bishara Saleh Ramat, Deputy Director of Sangaya Education at BoSASEB.

BoSASEB FOCUS: Updates on the Nine-Month Sangaya Huffaz Training and Certification Programme Kicks Off in Biu
The nine-month Sangaya Huffaz Training and Certification Programme for Southern Borno Sangaya graduates officially commenced today, April 13, 2026, in Biu Local Government Area.

The programme is organized in collaboration with the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Kaduna, and was initiated by the Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board. It aims to be included in the National Educational framework and to recognize Sangaya graduates who have completed full memorization of the Glorious Qur’an by awarding them certification through NBAIS an examination body responsible for Arabic and Islamic studies, alongside elements of Western education.such as Computer Studies, English, Maths, Civic Education among others.

The opening ceremony took place at Biu Community Higher Islamic School and attracted approximately 225 applicants drawn from Biu, Bayo, Hawul, Kwaya Kusar, and Shani Local Government Areas.

In his welcome address, the Programme Manager, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, greeted all participants and emphasized the importance of understanding the screening procedures and operational guidelines of the programme.

Also speaking at the event, the Principal of the host institution, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Abdallah, highlighted the significance of the certification, noting that it will enhance the academic and professional recognition of Sangaya graduates.

The programme was officially declared open on behalf of the BOSASEB Board Chairman, Dr. Khalifa Aliyu Ahmed Abulfathi, by his representative, Alhaji Muhammad Ali Biu, who also serves as the Board Member representing Southern Borno.

The screening exercise is being led by Algoni Bishara Saleh Ramat, Deputy Director of Sangaya Education at BOSASEB.
