MOLCA Representation at the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting | Today 11th May 2026
Prof. Abba Makinta, Provost of Mohammed Lawan College of Agriculture [MOLCA], Maiduguri, Borno State, accompanied by MOLCA Admission Officer Haruna Abdulrahman, attended the JAMB Policy Meeting held at the Hairat Ade Balogun Auditorium, Body of Benchers Headquarters, Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Abuja.
The session was chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, and brought together key stakeholders in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector to deliberate on admissions guidelines and policies for the 2026 academic year.
MOLCA remains committed to aligning with national education standards and ensuring a smooth, transparent admission process for all prospective students.

MOHAMET LAWAN COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE RECEIVES VETERINARY MEDICINE EQUIPMENT FROM BADEA PROJECT
Today, Thursday, 30th April 2026, the Management of Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture (MOLCA), Maiduguri, Borno State, formally received a consignment of modern Veterinary Medicine equipment under the BADEA Project intervention programme.
The BADEA Project delegation was led by the Project Coordinator, Maina Mustapha Arjinoma, who was accompanied by Abba Yusuf Tijjani, Assistant Project Officer; Bulama Yerima, M & E, and Kyari Kaka Audu, Project Administrative Officer.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the College, the Provost, Professor Abba Makinta, was joined by principal officers of the institution, including the Deputy Provost, Registrar, Bursar, Director of Academic Planning, Heads of Departments, and other senior members of staff.
In his welcome address, Professor Makinta described the intervention as timely and strategic, noting that the newly supplied equipment will significantly strengthen the capacity of the College’s Department of Veterinary Medicine. He emphasized that the equipment will enhance hands-on practical training for students, improve research capabilities, and support community veterinary extension services across Borno State.

Prof Abba Makinta, provost of Mohamet Lawan college of agriculture, Maiduguri,
has won the construction of 250 room capacity hostel for the college from North East Development Commission (NEDC)
The site identification and handing over took place this morning in the presence of the college management team, NEDC officials, the project consultant and the contractor. The project commences immediately.

Today, 19th January 2026, members of Women of Substance (MOLCA) paid a courtesy visit to the Provost of MOLCA, Professor Alhaji Abba Makinta, to formally brief him on the aims and objectives of their group.
The Provost warmly received the members, expressed his delight with the initiative, and offered insightful advice on how to further strengthen and enhance their activities.
Following the visit to the Provost’s office, the members also paid a courtesy visit to the Registrar of MOLCA in his office, where he provided valuable guidance and support.
The visit underscores the commitment of Women of Substance (MOLCA) to excellence, unity, and constructive collaboration within the college.

Today January 12, 2026, the Nigeria Legion MMC paid an official courtesy visit to Prof. Alhaji Abba Makinta, Provost of Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture, Maiduguri, Borno State, and decorated principal officers of the college.
This visit marked the Legion's anniversary, honoring fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country, and demonstrated support for their widows, elderly, and those wounded in service.
The presented emblem symbolizes solidarity and empathy for the bereaved families.
The Legion commended the Provost for his exemplary leadership, humanitarian efforts, and support for the less privileged.

The Management of Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture (MOLCA), led by Provost Prof. Alhaji Abba Makinta, accompanied by Deputy Provost Dr. Enoch A. Amanda, Registrar Bakura Mohammed, Bursar Falmata Mallam CNA, Director of Academic Planning Umar Mustapha Marte, and Chief Accountant Mohammed Taha, successfully presented the 2026 fiscal year budget proposal to the Borno State House of Assembly's Budget Committee on Education, chaired by Engr. Gambomi Marte. The Provost reviewed the previous year's expenditure, both capital and recurrent, based on budget performance, and was recommended by the committee as the best provost. He then presented the 2026 budget, emphasizing infrastructure development, including college road networks, a complete overhaul of the college clinic, and a conducive working environment for both academic and non-academic staff.

Today 17 December, 2025. The Management of Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture, Maiduguri, together with members of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), welcomed the Secretary to the Borno State Government (SSG) to the college.

The modern agricultural equipment was provided by the FAO in order to support and improve the farming activities in Borno State.
