Our school's Speech and Prize Giving Day for the 2024/2025 academic session was successfully hosted on Sunday, 3rd August 2025, at Arrayan Complex.

The event commenced with an opening prayer by Ma'allim Dawud Abdulrahman, followed by the National Anthem in English and Arabic. Students recited selected verses from the Quran, and Primary 5 pupils performed a welcome song.

The Head Teacher, Uncle Satomi Garba Mohammed, delivered a welcome remark, emphasizing the importance of celebrating students' hard work and achievements.

The program featured a lecture by the Chief Imam of Al'ansar Mosques, Imam Dr. Goni, who spoke on "Emerging Economic Challenges — Islamic Perspective and Solutions."
Highlights of the event was the Exhabition of products and service manufacturers by pupils of the school.

Students showcased their talents through Islamic drama, songs, and a cultural display celebrating Nigeria's ethnic diversity.

The Director, Amb. Ahmed Shehu, and the Representative of the Chief Imam of Borno State, Amb Jafar Imam, delivered inspiring speeches.

Awards and prizes were presented to outstanding students, teachers, and parents. Our graduating Nursery 3 and Primary 5 students were presented with medals and certificates.

The event culminated in the cutting of the graduation cake.

A member of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Goni Dunoma, in a goodwill message, appreciated parents and guardians for believing in the school and entrusting their wards, while expressing the management's commitment to effective service delivery.

*Children's Day Celebration 2025 *

We celebrated Children's Day with great enthusiasm, merriment and excitement. The event was marked by various activities that showcased the talents and creativities of our students.

The celebration began with a Red carpet and photo session , ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a quiz competition(Qur'an musabaqa) that tested the students' knowledge and quick thinking. Our students also showcased their dancing and singing talents, entertaining the audience with their performances.

The event was a huge success, and we are grateful to our parents for their unwavering support and confidence in our students. Their encouragement played a significant role in making this celebration a memorable one.

We appreciate the enthusiasm and participation of our students, teachers, and parents in making this event a success. The Children's Day celebration was a wonderful way to recognize the importance of childhood and the potential of our young learners.

*Unanimously Resolved:*

That the Board of [Sultan Mubarak Academy] hereby approves the following major decisions:

1. *Scholarship for Children of Deceased Parents:*
- Children of deceased parents who are currently students of the school shall be awarded a 50% scholarship until completion of their education.
- In cases where payment of the 50% scholarship poses a challenge, the management will lease with the Parents Teachers Association to come up with strategies to ensure continuity of education for these students. However in order to ensure transparency and accountability the school will develop a criteria to curtail abuses of this humanitarian initiative. In order to operate within the current realities this resolution is subject to review after every two (2) years by the board.
- The Board's commitment is to ensure no student discontinues education due to parental demise.
2. *Scholarship for Wards of Committed Teachers:*
- Teachers who have served the school for 2 years or more shall be eligible for a 50% scholarship for their wards.
3. *National Health Insurance Authority Enrollment:*
- Permanent teachers shall henceforth be enrolled under the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and shall enjoy free medical services.
4. *Pension Scheme:*
- Permanent teachers shall be covered under the pension scheme, and the process for implementation has already been activated.

*Action Items:*

- The Management is hereby directed to implement these resolutions effective immediately.
- The Board Secretary shall ensure that all necessary documentation and notifications are completed.

We are excited to share with you the pictures of the commemoration of International Mother Language Day held yesterday Friday 21/02/2025 .
This day was observed worldwide to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as multilingualism.

To commemoration featured various activities that highlighted the importance of mother languages and cultural heritage. The activities will include:

- Language exhibitions showcasing the diversity of languages spoken by our students
- Cultural performances and presentations
- Drama

The parents have joined in celebrating this special day. Which help us in promoting linguistic and cultural diversity, and reinforce the importance of preserving our mother languages.
