ALHAMDULILLAH! A HISTORIC DAY AT SMIA

On behalf of Sultan Mubarak International Academy, we are grateful to Allah for the resounding success of our Maiden Qur'anic Graduation, Speech & Prize-Giving Day 2026 which took place at the school premises.

The event commenced at 10:00 AM with a large turnout of parents, education stakeholders, government representatives, community leaders, religious leaders, students, and visitors.

Highlights of the Day:
1. Welcome Address by our School Administrator, Mallam Satomi Garba. He shared the success story of SMIA — from starting with just 6 pupils to over 250 students today. He noted that this is our very first set of Qur'anic Graduates, Alhamdulillah.
2. Guest Lecture by Dr. Al-Mahadeni on “The Essence of Qur'anic Education for the Female Child.” He emphasized the need for parents to support both boys and girls to study the Qur'an so they can become agents of positive change in the community.
3. Award Presentation to Dr. Umar Goni, Chief Imam of Al-Ansar Mosque Borno State for his tireless efforts and commitment to Islam, peace building and spread of Islamic and spiritual knowledge in the community.
4.High Point: Our Nursery 3 Graduants gave beautiful presentations and later cut their graduation cake as sign of transitionto to next level.
Our Qur'anic Graduands also gave testimonies. The Chief Imam of Alansar mosque Dr. Umar Goni, tested their knowledge and testified that they have not only memorized the Holy Qur'an but also understand it properly. Masha Allah.
5.Prize Presentation by our Director, Amb. Ahmed Shehu to various students that excelled and parents who distinguishedthemselves. In his speech, he urged parents and guardians to double their efforts in giving their children sound Islamic knowledge. He reiterated the school’s vision: to empower students in both character and learning, in line with our motto “Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow.”
He also announced the school’s new focus on Entrepreneurship Education ensuring that every SMIA student graduates from SS3 with a trade that will make them self-reliant.

We sincerely thank all parents, guardians, guests, and partners who attended, supported, and prayed for us. Jazakumullahu Khayran.

Commencement of Practical Phase - Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Program

We wish to formally inform th3 public about the commencement of the practical phase of our Entrepreneurship Development Program, with specialization in Aquaculture - Fish Farming.

Activities Completed:
Day 1: Site preparation and pond/dam construction. Water quality parameters were stabilized to create a conducive environment for fingerlings.
Day 2: Students were taken to a certified hatchery within the state to procure healthy fingerlings. The fingerlings were subsequently and successfully stocked into the school aquaculture pond.

Program Structure:
This practical session follows three 3 months of theoretical instruction in fish production, pond management, and aquaculture value chains.
The fish will be nurtured in the school pond for a minimum culture period of 90 days. During this period, students will be engaged in daily feeding regimes, water quality monitoring, growth tracking, and general pond maintenance under supervision.

Program Objective:
The objective is to provide students with competency-based, hands-on experience in aquaculture. This is designed to equip them with technical and entrepreneurial skills for income generation, to support their educational pursuits and contribute to household and community economic development.

MATH GENIUSES CELEBRATED!
Sultan Mubarak International Academy just hosted the Mathematics Ambassadors Award Ceremony in partnership with the African Union Mass Project!
We were selected to host because of our high academic standards And today we honored our brightest young minds who are falling in love with Mathematics.

Highlights:

Sultan Mubarak International Academy in partnership with Federal Road Safety Corps Borno State Command have successfully commemorated World Bicycle Day 2026.

Activities our students enjoyed:
1. Presentations on the importance of cycling, road safety, and healthy living
2.Road safety lecture & practical session by FRSC officers on hand signals, and traffic rules
3. Supervised road ride: We rode through neighboring roads with full support from FRSC patrol teams and an ambulance on standby for safety.
4.Bicycle safety quiz & class discussions was held to reinforce what they learnt

The event was a wonderful, practical learning experience for the children. We sincerely appreciate FRSC team, parents/guardians, our dedicated teachers and management staff who turned up to support and witness the event.

We also encourage other parents to join us next time. Events like this are not just fun - they are real learning opportunities that build discipline, confidence, and responsibility in our children.
