This is carried out two (2) weeks following the end of the sales of forms. The examination covers the English Language, Mathematics, Sciences, Nursing and General Knowledge.
Candidates must pass the Entrance Examination into the Department of Midwifery which is a Computer Based Test (CBT).
ORAL INTERVIEW:
This is carried out a week following the release of the result of successful candidates in the written examination. A panel comprising of five senior officers in Nursing and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Health conduct the oral interview. This is to identify abilities in the candidates which are essential to the responsibilities of the student midwife. These include but not limited to critical thinking and communication skills.
BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
(i) Candidates must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate with at least five (5) credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in not more than two sittings from NECO, WAEC, GCE, and /or NABTEB,JUPEB
(ii) Candidates shall be between the ages of 14 and above
(iii) Candidates must pass the written examination and oral interview with a cutoff point.
