FIRST AMONG MANY BRETHREN

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (Romans 8:29 [NIV]

Brethren is an old English word for brothers. It implies members of the same group, bloodline, profession etc. But in the light of God's word, brethren is related to bloodline, that is family relationship.

Jesus is called the first among many brethren. What this implies is that, there are many children born of the will of God through the Holy Spirit, and Jesus leads as the eldest.

You will say, but Jesus is the only begotten of God. That is true then. But not again. He remains the Only begotten till the time of redemption. After redemption, He became the first begotten, not longer only begotten.

Except a wheat of corn fell to the ground and die, it abides alone. His death resulted to many others becoming children of God.

For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him. (TPT Bible)
Your advantages of Jesus upgrading from only begotten to first begotten are viz

1. You're now of the same nativity with Him
2. You're a joint heir with Him
3. You are born of God.

CONFESSION: I am an associate of the God kind. I am a new creation, of a citizen of heaven where Christ is my superior. I have a new nativity and I am a joint heir with Christ. I am born of God. Glory!

QUALITY CONFESSION

2 CORINTHIANS 4:13
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.

Quality confession is simply speaking the word of God over every situation in Faith. It is talking your believe out in agreement with faith. Our study guide said that we "believe and therefore speak".

What you believe is what you speak and what you speak out is your quality confession. As a Christian it is wise and biblical to lay hold on the word of God over any other things without wavering. It is your ability to stay with the word that gives you strength and build up your faith to stand in the days of adversity and temptation. A believer with this knowledge is always concern about what the word said concerning him than what people are saying. For instance, the word of said "let the weak say he is strong." That is quality confession.

It is believing the opposite of your present situations. Are you sick? Speak healing instead. Does it seems that you are failing already? Boldly confess your success and victory. Remind yourself that God's plans for you are good and not evil,to have a future and a hope. It's that simple.
Speak life always.

The word of God has the efficacy to create, renew and maintain. It is Spirit and life. Anytime you confess the word, you are automatically speaking the opposite of the situation and life is been transferred to it. To any sickness, weakness, poverty, failure, famine speak healings, strength, riches, success and abundance. You are automatically calling forth solution and acting like God.

This is what I mean by acting like God. In creation, when God saw darkness He was not bordered. His attention was about the opposite, so he called forth light and there was light. Speaking those things out as though there are is a quality confession.

CONFESSION: In the name of Jesus, I speak life to every situation around me. Amen.

THE NEW CREATION

2 Corinthians 5 :17 [KJV]
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Our today's Devotional is aim at putting us in remembrance of our real identity which is a new creation.

When a man received Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour, he is automatically a new being. His spirit receives transformation, or rather renewed to that of Christ. This is the secret of our new birth. The Holy Spirit through apostle Paul made us to understand that we are joint-heir with Christ. That's after our new birth.

The new created man lives with the consciousness of God's righteousness and doesn't live by the dictate of the flesh. We stand before the redeemer justified and acquainted. Let dive into the scripture here

Romans 8:10-11
[Vs: 10] And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

[vs: 11] But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The preceding verses unveil to us our nature and makeup as the begotten of God. As a new creature, you body is death to sin, and your spirit is arrive unto righteousness and every good work. Sin is not your nature anymore. Old things had passed away, behold all things have become new. You are new now and forever.

The parable of Jesus Christ in the gospel portrayed us as sheep who stand without blemishes nor wrinkles. Don't try acting or living like a goat. Be wise and thrive to live in the newness of life.

It was Apostle Raphael Ohuei who said that "sin is a borrowed nature". That's true, don't go back to it.

CONFESSION: I affirm that I am a new creature, old things had passed away and everything concerning me has become new. I live in the consciousness of Christ's nature in me. I live by the dictate of the Spirit. Amen!

THE JUST FOR THE UNJUST

1 Peter 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

The work of Christ on the cross of Calvary is the greatest drama that ever happened in the history of the world. A fulfillment of the God's ordained plan to reconcile man back to God.

Men lost his place through Adam's disobedience in the garden of Eden, and since then had been swimming in the ocean of sin. Men naturally became sinners with Lucifer. As a result of this, hell became the final destination of humanity, since their DNA is of the devil.

But God is faithful and loving that He has no interest in the death of sinners which made Him plan for man's redemption. As sinners, we were wretched debtors, this means there is nothing we can do to pay. Our righteousness is like a filthy rag before God and we are therefore helpless.

Through love, Christ came down from heaven clothed with human flesh to take our place on Calvary to paid the price of our sins once and for all time. His death brought salvation from sins, bo***ge and diseases.

Our open scripture read "the just for the unjust". That's true. We were unjust and Christ is forever just. He who knew no sin was made sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21). Hallelujah.

PRAYER: Ever loving God, I thank you for the gift of eternal salvation and redemption.

THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD.

John 1:12-13

[12] But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

One of the most powerful truths revealed to us in the Gospels about the new creation is in Jn. 1:12-13. We are the children of God. To be born again is to be born of God, meaning God is your father. The Bible says in Galatians 4:6
"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." If you're not born again then you don't have the Spirit of His Son, therefore you cannot call God "Father."

But for us who are born again, we can call God "Father" and relate with Him as our gracious and loving heavenly Father. How amazing and comforting to know that God is our Father, and that He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 3:13).

Perhaps you're reading this today and you're not born again, but you desire the fatherhood of God; all you need to do is say, "O Lord God, I come to you today in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says "whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved." I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life, and believe that God raised Him from the dead. By my faith in His name, I receive ETERNAL LIFE into my spirit. I thank you for my new life in Christ Jesus. Amen."

WALKING IN GRACE

John 1: 16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

God's grace is supernatural. It brings favour, prosperity, health and supernatural increase. It's the manifestation of the love of God, compassion and power of God; the outward reflection of a divine influence in the human spirit. This supernatural grace, has been bestowed upon us as believers.

Our today's study is admonishing us to keep walking in this realities. The realities of God's grace brings acceptability, honour and dignity; it attract right people from the right channel to us for a right direction. Even in challenging situations, grace gives you the advantage and causes you to rise above every adversity.

This is the reason why Paul wrote in his letters to the early church that all things work together for the good of them that love God. Why? Because grace is available. It is beyond what saves. It is our divine assistance in resisting sin and finding help in the time of needs.

You are instructed to walk in this awareness. It gives you glory and excellence. To work in Grace therefore is to hold tightly unto God's promises in His holy word. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father, your grace and peace are multiplied in my life through the increased revelation of your Word granted me, in Jesus' name. Amen.

ANOTHER GOSPEL

Galatians 1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel.

What comes to your mind when you saw the topic, "another gospel"? Probably you are asking yourself if there are many gospel or how many gospel there is in Christianity.

But I am here to tell you that there is one gospel that was delivered to us by Christ Jesus and the early Apostles. The gospel is the Good news of the redemptive work of Christ on the cross. It's that simple. The gospel is the message of grace and truth which was made manifest by God in Jesus. The gospel is the message that saves, liberates, delivers and transforms.

Another gospel on the other hand, is a gospel that speaks something different from what the Spirit revealed to the new creation church. Any message that placed man's effort as a requirement for salvation is another gospel. Another gospel is a doctrine of Satan and men.

When men begin to teach motivational and inspirational quotes on the pulpit instead of the word of God, you can say that such is another gospel. Or if a man preached himself than Christ in a meeting and magnifies earthly things like hanker chief, table water as anointing, such can be termed as another gospel. Why? Because teachings like that do not glorify God, point men to Christ and save men from sin.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to live with the true gospel in Jesus'name. Amen.

YOU ARE BLESSED.

Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

One of the mistake some of us keep making is asking for what we already have. Many keep asking God for healing, riches, power among others when it is with them already.
But today, we are going to look at the other side of that.

Our study guide revealed to us that we have been blessed. Let's read from the NLT version;

"... WHO HAS BLESSED US with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ."

Did you see that? Your needs were met and your blessings are made available in Christ Jesus. The verse speaks of spiritual blessing you may ask. You are very correct. But you must understand that the world is more of spiritual realities. Before anything is made visible in the physical realm, it must have occurred in the realm of the Spirit a long time ago.

My point is that you don't ask for blessing, you called them out. This is why faith is very necessary to God. In our prayers, we used faith as an access key to get things that is made available in Grace.

The summary of the study is that you are the blessed of God. Whatever you ever need is available for you in Christ Jesus.

: Father, I put my faith to work to get things from my availabilities in Christ Jesus. I declared that I am the blessed of God. Amen.

May you continue to experience supernatural breakthrough.

Heaven is working for your sake.

Grace will speak on your behalf.

Where work and ability couldn't take you to, God's favor will take your there.

Helpers shall come to your dwelling.

Sickness and disease shall not come near your dwelling.

Hallelujah shall be your song throughout the month of May.

You will experience more of His manifest presence.
