*TOPIC: You Are Unmovable – Part 3: Don’t Move When Pressure Comes*
*TEXT: Daniel 3:16-18, Daniel 6:10, Acts 20:24, Psalm 46:2-3, Proverbs 24:10*
*INTRODUCTION:*
Part 1: You are unmovable because you are rooted in God.
Part 2: Rooted deep so you don’t fall when the storm comes.
Part 3: Don’t move when pressure comes.
Daniel 3:16-18 – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow, even to the fiery furnace.
Daniel 6:10 – Daniel prayed with his windows open, even with a lion’s den decree in place.
Acts 20:24 – Paul said, _“None of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself.”_
Psalm 46:2-3 – _“Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”_
Proverbs 24:10 – _“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”_
Pressure reveals what you’re really rooted in. Unmovable people don’t shift when the heat rises.
*DEVOTION:*
Pressure has one goal: to move you from your position in God.
When Nebuchadnezzar threatened the fiery furnace, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t negotiate. Daniel 3:17-18 – _“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us… But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods.”_ They were unmovable in conviction before they were unmovable in the fire.
When Darius signed the decree, Daniel didn’t hide his prayer life. Daniel 6:10 – he went home, opened his windows, and prayed as he had done before. The law didn’t move him. Fear didn’t move him. His habit of communion with God was stronger than the threat of lions.
Paul said in Acts 20:24, _“None of these things move me.”_ Chains, plots, shipwrecks, rejection – none of it moved him from his assignment. Why? Because his life wasn’t his own. It was hidden in Christ.
Psalm 46:2-3 says even if the earth is removed and mountains fall into the sea, we will not fear. That’s unmovable. Not because the situation is easy, but because the God in you is steady.
Proverbs 24:10 warns, _“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”_ Pressure exposes small strength. But pressure also strengthens big strength. When you refuse to move, your roots go deeper.
*5 WAYS TO STAY UNMOVABLE UNDER PRESSURE:*
1. *Decide Before the Pressure Comes*: Daniel and his friends decided in advance they wouldn’t bow. Make your stand in peace, not panic.
2. *Keep Your Daily Habits With God*: Daniel prayed as he always did. Consistency holds you when crisis hits.
3. *Fix Your Eyes on God, Not the Threat*: Hebrews 12:2. The furnace looks bigger when you stop looking at God.
4. *Speak What God Said, Not What You Feel*: Daniel 3:17 – they spoke faith, not fear.
5. *Remember Your Life Is Hidden in Christ*: Colossians 3:3. If Christ is unmovable, you are too.
*SIGNS PRESSURE IS MOVING YOU:*
1. *You Start Negotiating With Sin*: “Just this once” becomes a pattern.
2. *You Hide Your Faith to Avoid Trouble*: Daniel could have closed his windows.
3. *You Make Rushed, Fear-Based Decisions*: Saul offered the sacrifice himself in 1 Samuel 13.
4. *You Quit Your Assignment Midway*: Pressure makes you drop what God gave you.
*DANGERS OF MOVING WHEN PRESSURE COMES:*
1. *You Lose Your Testimony*: The world watches to see if your God is real under fire.
2. *You Miss the Miracle on the Other Side*: The fire didn’t burn them. The lions didn’t touch Daniel.
3. *You Train Yourself to Bow to Every Threat*: What you bow to once, you’ll bow to again.
*A WORD TO THE ONE FEELING THE HEAT:*
The furnace is hot, the decree is signed, the threat is real.
But your God is still on the throne. He was there before the pressure came, and He’ll be there after it passes.
Don’t move. Don’t bow. Don’t hide. Let the fire prove you’re unmovable.
*FINAL CHARGE:*
Pressure is not a sign to quit. It’s a sign to stand.
You are unmovable because the One in you cannot be moved. Hold your ground, and watch God show up.
*REFLECTION QUESTIONS:*
1. What area am I tempted to move from because of pressure right now?
2. What decision do I need to make in advance so I don’t compromise later?
3. Am I keeping my daily habits with God, or only seeking Him in crisis?
4. What scripture can I stand on while I wait for God to show up?
*PRAYER:*
Father, give me the grace to stand when pressure comes. I will not bow, I will not hide, I will not quit. Strengthen my heart to stay unmovable in You. Let my life prove that You are faithful. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
*DECLARATION:*
I do not move when pressure comes. I stand firm in God. The fire will not burn me. The lions will not touch me. I am unmovable in Christ. Amen.
