The Lagos Business School, Business Innovation Accelerator, recently hosted an inspiring Market Access Seminar for MBA entrepreneurs across diverse industries. We had entrepreneurs from FMCG, fashion, logistics, healthcare, IT, e-commerce, construction/architecture, finance/banking, education/training, advertising, PR, and broadcasting.
The panel session in Education/ Edtech sector featured , CEO of . A gamified, interactive and self-paced learning platform which equips children with coding, business and creative skills, enabling them to launch startups before they turn 18.
David shared his journey from software engineering to revolutionizing education in Africa. His story began when he discovered a gap in coding education for primary school students. Despite challenges like lack of curriculum, teacher training, and government approvals.
David pioneered the first approved coding textbooks in Lagos State, then he trained tutors to use the instructional materials he created. This opened an opportunity for him to service markets with this pain point. In his words "The market doesnโt respond to assumptions. You must adapt, innovate, and build systems that scale impact."
His story reminds us that market access isnโt just about distribution. Itโs about creating value where itโs needed most.

We organized an Access to Market Seminar at Lagos Business School, Business Innovation Accelerator, bringing together MBA entrepreneurs from more than 10 sectors. These included FMCG, fashion, logistics, healthcare, IT, e-commerce, construction/architecture, finance/banking, education/training, advertising, PR, and broadcasting.
The seminar featured , CEO of , an African startup revolutionizing the way digital currency wallets are managed and empower seamless and efficient financial transaction, offering flexible channel to receive, sell and spend money.
Tunde Buremo shared how his fintech platform gained traction by addressing a single pain point, the inability of several Nigeriansโ to make dollar payments with local bank cards, by identifying this niche problem, he focused on creating virtual dollar cards, which enabled seamless dollar transactions.
He demonstrated that you will always find customers if you are solving a genuine problem. By dominating this niche he expanded to create tools for freelancers.

The recent MBA Access to Market Seminar at Lagos Business School, Business Innovation Accelerator for Entrepreneurs in the MBA programme coming from over (10) industries; FMCG to Fashion, logistics, healthcare, information technology, e-commerce, construction/architecture, finance/banking, education/ training, advertising, public relations and broadcasting.
We kicked off Day 2 of the seminar looking at logistics in an enlightening session led by Okonji, CEO of a transportation and logistics company providing safe transportation for liquid and solid products from source to end users. His journey from banking to building a logistics powerhouse emphasized the transformative power of strategic market access.
Here are the key takeaways:
- Elvis emphasized that trust is the currency of every thriving business. In his words. โYour name is key. If you say something is black, let it be black.โ
- Talking about access to the market, starting with just 5 trucks, GPC scaled his fleet of trucks to over 250 trucks. Beyond transportation services, GPC offers other range of services from import and export services to warehousing and fleet management. He is focused on only niche opportunities, servicing underserved corporate contracts.
- He emphasized that market access isnโt just about distribution. It includes understanding customer pain points in order to create value for customers. Loyal customers will end up becoming brand advocates, thereby creating more markets. He says, GPCโs success came from addressing gaps in logistics reliability, earning us long-term contracts.

- Dr. Violet Abdulkadir, the founder of AfriKoncept, a business that started when she was in the Executive MBA programme at Lagos Business School. She explained how she positioned her fashion business as an impactful, ethical, sustainable fashion business, using African fabrics that allow Africans to connect to their roots in a fashionable way.
- This led to a boom in the B2B section of her business. In her words, "80% of our revenue comes from B2B clients buying our SDG-aligned story.
