Regina Toynex Adekola: Naija Beaders Club
At a point I came to a conclusion within myself... and feel like sharing it to know what fellow colleagues see. to it....
There are N50 pies on the street, but people still go to eateries to buy smaller size for N450....
There are Shirts of N100 at Yaba, Some people go for N7,000 single shirt in Boutiques....
Even in our own Profession, there are Cheap rubber crystals in packs but some still choose to use the better more expensive ones on strands... Its Call Knowing Your Worth"
So its a matter of how you define urself and where you want to be...
Letting people Use you Cheaply or Making the best out of your Knowledge and Time... Its Your Choice!
So, I feel we should just:
Let the cheap beaders and trainers continue their wretched pricing... let the true beaders stop their free assistance and put worthy price on Advance Trainings, creating a niche for themselves and marking the boundary.
It's just a matter of time before they ll come to their senses when they have nothing good to show for their years of labour....
Let them keep working like an Elephant and eating like an Ant...
Like an adage goes, whatever you dont suffer for cannot be valued... Yoruba People will say "Drugs that you get for free us always abadoned in d kitcgen'
Better to have 1 student for One month than 20 students for Three months .... Cos those you trained today... No matter the cost increases your competition by their number... So the more You do it in your enviroment, the more the environment becomes Saturated with Your Types and at the end... No body needs to learn or make anymore neither will they need you cos Students will always Add your Knowledge to their Inherent Knowledge making them better than you....
In the end, Bead Making in you area Becomes Like Cooking... Everyone Doing it for their Family
