If you want a child to learn anything, he/she has to actively be involved in the process.

Here, we are learning how to read by putting together simple sounds using large movable alphabets (LMA). Merging a consonant, vowel and consonant sound (CVC) is often the first step to learning how to read.

Building CVC words with LMA helps preschoolers learn how to blend and spell three letter words on their own, this builds their confidence in reading.

If your child is learning to read, encourage him/her to do this at home. You could write letters on cardboard, cut them up, put simple CVC words together and see how many they can pronounce. With time, they will become readers.
