NEW DAWN FOR CCPC: ZONAL COORDINATORS ONBOARDED

The Cross Country Poetry Celebration (CCPC) enters a transformative phase with the official appointment of Zonal Coordinators across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. This strategic expansion marks a new dawn for the movement; decentralising leadership, deepening grassroots engagement, and strengthening our commitment to poetry as a unifying force.

We are pleased to unveil the distinguished coordinators and their regions.

· Salome Ikoyoyo – South South (SS)
· Babatunde Sanyaolu – South West (SW)
· Abdullahi Idi Dahiru – North East (NE)
· Richard Inya – South East (SE)
· Isyaku Bala Ibrahim – North Central (NC)

These literary leaders will oversee planning, coordination, and ex*****on of CCPC activities at zonal and state levels, working with local hosts and creative communities to ensure seamless nationwide participation.

This milestone reflects our resolve to build a vibrant, inclusive platform where Nigerian poetry thrives—from the classroom to the stage, from indigenous languages to global conversations.

PIN APPOINTS UTHMAN ADEGBITE AS SECRETARY FOR CROSS COUNTRY POETRY INITIATIVE

In line with its vision of becoming Nigeria's foremost literary hub driven by poetry, PIN has appointed Nigerian writer, poet, bio-chemist and co-host of CCPC 2023 in Ilorin as Secretary of the Cross country poetry celebration (CCPC) Initiative. With this appointment, the literary community expects fresh perspectives, geared towards the overall good of CCPC.

PIN CAMPUS SLAM UNILAG

On the 18th of February, 2024 history was made by Poets in Nigeria UNILAG connect centre led by Oloyede Olaoluwa Michael for hosting a highly successful maiden Campus Poetry Slam. The well attended event had the following Judges: Adesewa Alagbala, Alani Gbemileke Ann and Olubade Oludasa M - a renowned Slam Champion.

Winner: Diamond Chikazimma Francis Department: Law/200 level

First Runner-up: Folagbade, Deborah Boluwatife - Department: English and literature/200 level.

Special kudos to the lead Rep Oloyede Olaoluwa Michael and his team for adding a spark of life to UNILAG via poetry.
