PHOTOS: Christian lawyer reflects on wearing hijab in Law School, shares lessons on faith and identity
A Christian lawyer opens up about her decision to wear a hijab during Law School, detailing what the experience taught her about faith, personal identity, and interfaith respect.
O Allah, improve the state of the Ummah of Muhammad (ﷺ).
O Allah, grant ease to the Ummah of Muhammad (ﷺ).
O Allah, have mercy on the Ummah of Muhammad (ﷺ).
May Allah accept our Jumuah as act of Ibaadah.
Drop the Khutbah (topic) discussed at your Masjid.
Even after the supreme court affirmation on the right to Hijab, some uncultured elements still acted otherwise. This is absurd.

INFRINGEMENT OF RELIGION RIGHT
Muslim female candidates were reportedly forced to remove their hijabs before entering a UTME exam hall at Esther Oshikoya CBT Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident was captured on camera and has since spread online, drawing criticism from stakeholders.
The centre, located on Sango Eleyele Road, Arometa Bus Stop, opposite NNPC Filling Station, is an accredited JAMB registration and exam facility with reference number UTME2017/30020010.
JAMB guidelines permit hijab during UTME, and the directive has been called a violation of candidates’ constitutional right to freedom of religion. Reports say some students complied to avoid missing their papers, causing distress among those affected.
Stakeholders are now calling on JAMB headquarters and its Oyo State office to intervene and prevent further denials based on religion. They’re also urging Muslim groups, human rights organizations, and parents to investigate and protect students’ rights to ensure religious discrimination doesn’t block access to education.
