Through sustainable farming initiatives, training, and community support, Lafarge Africa is empowering farmers, improving yields, and strengthening food security across communities.

Our impact in agriculture extends beyond crops. It’s about livelihoods, resilience, and a future that grows stronger with every harvest.

Because when agriculture thrives, communities flourish.

We are deepning our partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Environment on sustainable waste management particularly on the diversion of non-recyclable waste to our Ewekoro facility for co-processing.

Following a recent visit of the Permanent Secretary to the Lagos state MOE, Dr. Gaji Omobolaji Tajudeen to our Ewekoro processing plant, and a press conference with the Honorable Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, we extended support to the Ministry during the statewide environmental sanitation exercise held on Saturday, 25 April 2026 by providing additional trucks, for timely evacuation of waste which was critical to prevent accumulation and re-dispersion onto the streets.

All waste collected during the exercise was transported to Lafarge’s Olusosun platform for sorting, after which the non-recyclable fractions will be conveyed to Ewekoro plant for environmentally responsible co-processing.

During the exercise, the Chairman of Lagos Island East Local Government, Hon. Muibi Folawiyo, who also conducted monitoring rounds, expressed appreciation to Lafarge for its timely and impactful support.

This intervention underscores our commitment to environmental sustainability and a progressive public-private partnership.

At Lafarge, putting women behind the wheel in a male-dominated industry is one of the ways we break barriers and stereotypes.

From empowering women drivers from the Southwest to the South-east and now graduating a new cohort in Ashaka, Gombe state. We are turning women into breadwinners, role models, and professionals with the Women on Wheels(WOW) initiative.

This initiative puts heavy-duty vehicles in the hands of women who never thought they'd drive their own future.

It's not just about a license. It's about economic empowerment, respect, and social development.

They do not just graduate. They rewrite what is possible, while driving change and progress.
