“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” – Rumi

We often see wounds as weaknesses, evidence of failure, betrayal, or loss. But what if your wound is not just a scar but an opening?

A wound cracks us open, making space for light to enter. Light in the form of healing, awareness, truth, grace, and divine love.

A wound in the mind can shatter limiting beliefs and open you to new wisdom.

A wound in the body can teach you gentleness and awaken your strength.

A wound in the heart can deepen compassion and expand your capacity to love.

A wound in the spirit can strip away pretenses and invite a more authentic walk with God.

Even communities and nations carry wounds of injustice, inequality, or division. Yet those very cracks can become the birthplaces of reform, unity, and healing.

Your wound is not just a reminder of pain. It’s a sacred threshold where transformation begins. Don’t hide it. Don’t despise it. Let it breathe. Let it be the channel through which light pours in, reshaping you into someone wiser, stronger, and more whole.

Today, pause and ask yourself:
- Where in your life do you feel most “wounded” right now?
- What “light” might be trying to enter through that wound; greater self-awareness, compassion, divine connection, or a new way of living?

In Africa, there are countless women who have inspired and continue to inspire us with their resilience, innovation, and leadership.

Today, we want to share with you the stories of four African women heroes who have made a significant impact in their respective fields:

1. Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti: Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was a Nigerian feminist and political activist. She was a leading figure in the struggle for Nigeria's independence and was also a pioneer in women's rights activism in Nigeria.

2. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf: Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was the first female president of Liberia and the first elected female head of state in Africa. She was instrumental in promoting peace, democracy, and economic development in Liberia.

3. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian writer and speaker. She has won numerous literary awards for her novels and essays, including the Orange Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Adichie is also a vocal feminist and has given several TED Talks on gender equality and the dangers of a single story.

4. Hajiya Gambo Sawaba: Hajiya Gambo Sawaba was a Nigerian politician and women's rights activist. She was a vocal advocate for women's participation in politics and was known for her outspoken opposition to military rule in Nigeria. Sawaba also founded the Women's Freedom League and the Northern Elements Progressive Union.

These women have shown us that with determination, perseverance and passion, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. They have challenged the status quo and defied the odds to make a positive impact in their communities and the world.

I hope that they inspire you to achieve great things. You’re capable of making a difference in the world and your voice matters.

Happy Women’s Day to every woman in our community❤️.

We await your emergence💪🏾
