Celebrating World Packaging Day 2026

On 6 September 2026, packaging professionals and ITEC alumni from Nigeria came together in Lagos to mark the inaugural World Packaging Day and celebrate the important role packaging plays in protecting products, people and the planet.

The evening, hosted by Amb. Ahmed Alex Omah, and Prof. (Dr.) Tanweer Alam, brought together professionals for an engaging alumni gathering filled with conversation, networking, shared experiences and dinner.

For AIOPPN, it was a valuable opportunity to celebrate the people behind the packaging industry and the connections that continue to strengthen the profession across Nigeria and the global packaging community.

We congratulate the WPO World Packaging Organisation on this important milestone and for creating a global platform to recognise the value and impact of packaging.

From protecting food and reducing waste to supporting safety, trade, innovation and sustainability, packaging plays an important role in our everyday lives.

As a professional packaging body in Nigeria, we are proud to be part of this global community and remain committed to promoting packaging knowledge, professionalism, innovation and development in Nigeria.
