The Queen project 4/12/19 09/03/2020

As we celebrate international women’s day I reflect on one of my happiest moments from last year. My Social responsibility project “The Queen Project” in collaboration with the Society for Women Engineers (SWE) and Milex Autos organised an engineering experience day for young girls from St Marys Secondary School and it was an absolute Joy! The fulfilment I get from partnering with young adults especially young girls as they form opinions about their careers cannot be described. It is elating and humbling to be part of movement that encourages young girls pursue engineering careers and motivate them push beyond boundaries.
I want to sincerely appreciate everyone who coordinated and supported the event in various ways.

It was exciting to finally kickstart my vision to encourage women in engineering 👷🏿‍♀ and empower 💪🏾 young girls to believe in themselves. Hosted 32 female students from Secondary Schools and Polytechnics in a full day event at my company SCC NIG LTD (Steel Pipe Factory, Ushafa, Abuja.) where they had different technical and motivational sessions. It was a very humbling experience. I got really emotional seeing the sparkle of belief in the girls eyes and receiving some heartfelt messages. I want to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the first Queen Project Event ( My Hubby - Lanre Idris😍😘, My Friends - Udoka Ezealor and Shola Otitoju, My SWE Members Catherine Amuta, Stella Uzochukwu, Vera Egwuatu & Ikpotokin Peace, Finally, The Management and Staff of SCC NIG LTD Pipe Factory.
