Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU) has reopened its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) online screening portal for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The reopening is for prospective candidates who chose the University as their first choice and scored a minimum of 150 in the 2026 UTME.

The screening portal will remain open until Sunday, October 18, 2026.

According to the University, the extension follows the release of the 2026 NECO results, allowing affected candidates to upload their SSCE results to the JAMB portal and complete the admission screening process.

Eligible candidates who are yet to complete their registration are advised to complete the process before the deadline.

1. FUTIA has released its 2026/2027 fees. Fresh students are at ₦209,000 or ₦214,000, while returning students are at ₦139,000 or ₦144,000.

The Federal University of Technology, Ikot Abasi (FUTIA) has released the approved fees and charges for fresh and returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session, with separate totals for engineering and non-engineering students.

Fresh non-engineering students are to pay ₦209,000, while fresh engineering students are to pay ₦214,000. Returning non-engineering students have an approved total of ₦139,000, while returning engineering students have a total of ₦144,000.

Hostel accommodation is ₦80,000 for each student category listed in the schedule.

FUTIA has also ended the former 70% and 30% instalment arrangement. Students will be required to make 100% fee payment at the point of registration.

FUTIA School Fees for Fresh and Returning Students
The approved charges cover acceptance, examination, health insurance, student dues, laboratory or workshop costs, ICT, registration, security and other listed student charges.

Fresh students have higher totals because some charges apply at entry and are marked Nil for returning students. These include the acceptance fee, caution fee, students handbook, identity card, matriculation, entry qualification verification and orientation fees.

Engineering students also have a ₦5,000 SWEP charge, which accounts for the ₦5,000 difference between the engineering and non-engineering totals in each student category.

FUTIA Fresh Student Fees
Fresh students in non-engineering programmes have a subtotal of ₦179,000. The ₦30,000 acceptance fee brings the approved total to ₦209,000.

Fresh engineering students have a subtotal of ₦184,000, which includes the ₦5,000 SWEP charge. After the ₦30,000 acceptance fee is added, the approved total is ₦214,000.

Several entry-related charges apply to both categories of fresh students, including the ₦10,000 caution fee, ₦5,000 students handbook fee, ₦5,000 identity card fee and ₦10,000 matriculation charge.

Entry qualification verification is ₦5,000, while orientation fees are also ₦5,000.

FUTIA Returning Student Fees
Returning non-engineering students have an approved total of ₦139,000 for the 2026/2027 academic session.

Returning engineering students have an approved total of ₦144,000. Their schedule includes the ₦5,000 SWEP charge for engineering students.

Acceptance fee, caution fee, students handbook, identity card, matriculation, entry qualification verification and orientation fees are marked Nil for returning students.

Other listed charges, including examination, TISHIP, library, ICT, development levy, utility, security and sanitation remain payable across both returning student categories.

FUTIA requires 100% payment of the approved fees at the point of registration for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has announced an adjustment to the resumption dates for fresh and returning students for the 2026/2027 academic session.

In a circular dated September 25th, 2026, and signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Glory Ojochogu Yakubu, the University explained that the adjustment was necessitated by unforeseen technical glitches and logistical challenges and is aimed at ensuring seamless administrative preparations for the new academic session.

𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Similarly, returning students from 200 Level and above will resume on Monday, October 19th, 2026, representing a three-week extension from the original resumption date.

The University further announced that the regular registration deadline has been extended to Friday, November 13th, 2026, while late registration will run from Saturday, November 14thto Monday, November 23rd, 2026, with the statutory late registration fee of ₦10,000.

CUSTECH advised fresh students to commence screening, physical documentation and online course registration immediately upon resumption, while returning students may continue with fee payment and course registration through the online portal before their physical return to campus.

The University said a supplementary academic calendar containing the new date for the matriculation ceremony and revised academic workload would be issued by the Academic Planning Unit.

Management expressed regret over any inconvenience the adjustment may cause and wished students safe journeys back to campus.

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse (FUD), Professor Ahmad Mohammed Gumel, has reviewed the report from the 20th meeting of the Students' Disciplinary Committee and approved disciplinary sanctions against 22 students over various offences.

According to the FUD Official Weekly Newsletter, 12 students were expelled after being found guilty of offences including criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, cult-related activities, phone theft and drug abuse on campus.

Five students were also rusticated, with four students receiving rustication for two semesters and one student for one semester. Their offences included attempted sexual assault and cyber bullying.

Additionally, five students received warning letters over offences involving drug abuse off campus, attempted sexual assault and cyber bullying.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, described the approval as an important step in expanding access to university education and strengthening UNN’s capacity to respond to the needs of a rapidly changing world.
