The aforementioned was our anthem when our candidate contested in the last election, beating all permutations, proving political pundits wrong and emerging victorious against all odds.
In this present political dispensation, we have fasted and prayed and we have consulted God. He said *"our candidate would emerge effortlessly without any iota of stress even though he would face some little challenges, he would emerge victorious".*
*Watch Out* for a fearlessly brave and courageous young man in his age who has the experience and the managerial know-how to run the affairs of this political era.
*Watch Out* for a Political Tsunami that will sweep IBADAN SOUTH-WEST constituency in few weeks time.
*Watch out* for a Public Declaration of Ambition and interest to be attended by more than 30 thousand people in coming weeks.
*Watch out* for the biggest and largest political mobilization that will shake the nooks and crannies of IBADAN SOUTH-WEST constituency in few weeks time

The Principle of Not Giving A F**k: Oyo State Education
Perhaps I could start from the beginning, relating with enough detail every educational issue that has arisen since the inauguration of the present administration back in 2011. In fact, it will amount to a super story with episodes, however, no issue is hidden, it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that the educational sector of Oyo State is no longer in the continuous form of ‘deteriorating’ but has reached a perfect tense of ‘deteriorated’. Someone once remarked that ‘Oyo State education is a joke’ If this is not totally correct, I sure bet it’s a foot closer to being true!
There is no where we would start from that we won’t hit the nail in the head. Talk of finance, concentration, development, personnel or even infrastructure. However, am in no position to judge but if for once I groan against what has been adversely affecting me, my criticism should not be condemned. In all the areas mentioned above, one thing is pivotal; Money! Money to employ qualified personnel and be able to afford them, money to initiate improving policies which could catapult education in the state into next level, money to build conducive school environment comfortable for learning, or more schools and learning institutions.
As far as education is concerned, money goes a long way in ensuring its improvement, development and continuity. If a state fails in everything else, it should not fail to invest in education. Education is the bedrock of development and needed for growth. I mean growth in every sense of the word.
The Senator Abiola Ajimobi led administration has not done so well in the education sector. Some prevalent issues encountered in the sector may make one conclude that the government does not give a f**k about learning. Concentration on students and staff is very low and financial/remunerations disbursed is way below expectation.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) was almost extinct few months back in the course of incessant strike due to nonpayment of salaries and remunerations due. While students were at home doing other things but learning, many atrocities were committed.
Currently, over half of the state owned institutions are on indefinite strike as a result of lack of financial empowerment. Salaries owed and remunerations withheld and despite peaceful protests and all sort of pleas and consultations, the government has turned deaf ear to their clamors. One of my questions still bothers on entitlement. Why would the state government not want to pay what is due? The government is robbing every lecturer of every state owned institution of his/her due. A daylight robbery! One of the crimes prohibited by law and punishable on conviction. Who will attend to this?
Students’ welfare is not even on the list. The current state government has not disbursed any amount as bursary, scholarships or financial aid since its inception. Well, the government that has not paid what is owed is definitely not considering bursary payment. One of the officials at the the government secretariat during a meeting argued that the nonpayment of bursary did not start from the present administration. This is laughable! In fact, this is no defense at all.
Quintessentially, Oyo state government has a poor record of performance in education. If nothing is done, not only will the students suffer, the whole Oyo State citizenry will be victims of the circumstances that follow. They (citizens of the state) should note that if we are not sent back to school to learn:
1.Students will become the hooligans and touts disturbing the market places
2. We will become the political thugs
3. We will become the employed hands to disrupt polling units and steal ballot boxes during elections
4. We will be the ones perpetrating the evil desires of the devil causing unrest to the society
5. We will become the hired killers, armed robbers and human traffickers
6. We will become the kidnappers demanding ransoms from victims
7. We will later be the youths for revolution, vandalizing public properties, taking to arms and executing the politicians
8. We will become the society’s worst nightmare
Education is our right! It is nonnegotiable. Education is the root of every society’s development. Oyo state government should give a f**k about it! In fact, it should give as many f**k as possible.
Lastly, the current government should remember and take into consideration of the power of the people. Governor Ajimobi should not paint a bad picture for himself (opinion polls portrays bad picture painted already). More importantly, he should now defame the ruling APC and subsequent contenders under the party. Election is coming and no better way to perform change than voting. There is joy in holding our Permanent Voters Card (PVC) with the intention to pay back.

OYO STATE STUDENTS REMINDS OYO STATE GOVERNMENT THE RESOLUTIONS OF OUR ROUND TABLE MEETING ON LONG OVERDUE STUDENTS BURSARY
It is imperative to salute the diplomatic approach (in form of dialogue) employed by His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi the executive Governor of the state towards the demands of the generality of Oyo State students. This singular act led to the outright suspension of the proposed shutdown of Oyo State by its students on 24th May, 2018, thereby averting a possible economic shutdown in the state and civil unrest. He has indeed demonstrated a high sense of commitment to the welfarism of the students.
His Excellency, through Prof. J.O. Olowofela, Hon. Commissioner of Education; Bar. Abayomi Oke, Hon. Commissioner for Youths and Sports; Special Adviser to the Governor on Students Matters; Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths; Liaison Officer to the Governor on Education; Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Education; Director of Higher Education, Ministry of Education; Secretary, Bursary and Scholarship Board and other representatives of Oyo State Government, on 21st May, 2018 made a commitment to immediately address the non payment of bursary and scholarship funds which the students are agitating for and consequently slated 24th May, 2018 for a mass protest through a round table dialogue.
The idea of dialogue with government representatives was welcome by the entire students in the state under the umbrella body of *Federation of Oyo State Students' Union (FOSSU), National Council*
During the round table meeting, the reasons for the lack of payment of the bursary and scholarship were carefully explained and examined by both parties i.e. government representatives and students representatives; facts and figures about previous payments were tendered and the students representatives were reasonably convinced but yet frowned at the last sales of bursary forms to students in the state by the state government and demanded immediate payments of the said bursary.
It was unanimously agreed upon at the round table meeting that the representatives of students should calm their fellow students in the state down and be scientific while the representatives of government would revisit the issues and start the process for the payments of the said bursary and finally communicate the representatives of students by calling for another round table meeting after *21 days* i.e. 12th June, 2018.
Owing to the fact that the agreed date fell on June 12th Public Holiday, it is a bit understandable as to why the government representatives are yet to summon the leadership of Federation of Oyo State Students Union *(FOSSU) National Body* to the agreed meeting.
It is on this note that the leadership of Federation of Oyo State Student Union (FOSSU) National Body demands, with immediate effect, to be summoned to the agreed meeting by Oyo State Government. The proposed date should be communicated not later than this week as other students are anxiously waiting for our feedbacks on the issue.
While appreciating the Governor of the state, his Excellency Senator Abiola Ajimobi on whose order the round table meeting was called and the efforts of government representatives so far on the issues since the time the meeting was called, we wish to once again appreciate the doggedness, trust, undiluted support and confidence reposed in us by the generality of Oyo State students in ensuring the government disburses scholarship and bursary funds, as part of its commitment to providing free and qualitative education in the state as expressed during its swearing-in programme on May 29, 2011 at the former Liberty Stadium (now Obafemi Awolowo Stadium). We would not subside in our resoluteness to ensure our demands are met.
